So I wanted to try out the laminarlip speedshield (http://www.laminarlip.com/1125cr.php) but when I tried a dry-fit the damn thing is about an inch too wide. I have the stock bars and the brake reservoirs prevent the shield from fitting. LL said that I could just loosen the mounts and move the reservoirs away, but honestly there is barely 1/8" of space on either side. Any ideas? |

I assume that you mean the stock upright bars ? Have you tried loosening the handlebar clamp and moving (twisting) the bars back a little ? |

Chessm, Sportster_mann, both of you have the upright bars, the OPs issue is clearance with the clubman bars. Looking at the pics, it appears that you will need to trim the lip back quite a bit to clear the clubman bars. |

Yea I have the clubman, and I haven't seen anything on the LL site that says it requires one or the other handlebars. Froggy had it right. I'll either need to return the lip (hopefully to get it modified) or grind it down myself. |

Chessm: What mirrors are those? Look like the stems are longer? Any mods needed for installation? Thanks. |

Just got off the phone with LL; I can either return it or try to modify it myself by using a heat gun to warp it. Any suggestions? (Message edited by javaman21011 on February 20, 2012) |
