Bingo!! They say that they will be the best value for the cost which, in our language means that it could be a lower cost option to a Penske type shock. They also said they will take special orders on length, not just the 14" or 16" standard. Is it wrong that I'm excited!!! |

This is good news, indeed, assuming that shipping across the pond doesn't kill the savings. |

Seems like it's missing something? I like the way the long bars taper in the middle. |

It seems they are still in the prototype stage so I would expect not until the summer or fall of this year. Since they have posted this, there has been quite the responses on FB. I also heard that these shocks will be custom made peices and you will have to give your fully dressed riding weight for the correct spring rate and valving!! I think I'm in wub |

If you are already willing to shop overseas for a new shock, then contact Ronnie at AST for a coil-spring style rear shock second to none, dialled in just to suit you. They have been in production for quite a while, and the European and British Buell communities swear by them. Dutch X1 knows more about the AST unit - it is made in the Netherlands. http://www.ast-suspension.com/index.asp |

I have ASTs on all my Buells and they are faultless. Endless support for setting them up, whether it be setting up damping or selecting the right spring... Highly recommended... |

if you are interested in a AST shock ask the guys from AST-USA,they can answer all your questions about prices. about the shock,it comes in every lenght you request, lenght, spring pre-load,compression and rebound adjustable, hose is with swiffle banjo's,also a longer hose is no problem. The german Pegasus raceteam uses AST on all their (race)bikes.

just got an email back from Mike from AST USA: We offer a solution for the following Buell models: S1, S3, M2, X1, XB, Ulysses, and 1125 R/CR. The rear shock is triple adjustable and comes in either 14" or 16" length. Custom lengths can be accommodated, but require longer build time. They come with a black spring (other colors can be requested). Ronnie needs the following information when ordered: length, rider weight, hose length, and which side the reservoir will be on (show or no show). Also, DLC coated cylinders are available on request (additional fee). Cost: $1050 DLC option: additional $150 Typical build time is a couple weeks, but then it takes around 10 days for shipping/customs/re-shipping to customer on top of that - so estimate 30 days from time of order. Feel free to let the forum folks know. Thanks Mike Patterson AST Suspension - USA Moton - USA 972.424.3700 That's a bit pricey for me at least.. Hope to hear what a quote for a Twin Motorcycles shock will run for. |
