from roadracing world: http://www.roadracingworld.com/news/article/?artic le=47202 WSMC is where Rob Weaver runs with Shawn Higbee, and where Slaughter runs. This is a big blow for them. AFM runs Buttonwillow, Infineon, and Thunderhill, but that's some serious commuting to get to those. There's the Chuckwalla racing league too, but that's a pretty decent drive as well. Sure would be nice if some big buck fat cat came in there and just bought the whole facility from them and fixed it up a bit. Not likely, though. |

I have been going there and watching the club races since 2006 and probably only miss two or three a year. I am in utter disbelief of the WSMC shut down and really don't know what to say. I feel extremely sorry for racers like Steve and Rob who have invested so much off season time and money just to get ONE race in. I sure hope there is a reprieve in this line of thinking towards the club. |

Going to be a boost for WERA West and Chuckwalla. Next race with WERA is Vegas next weekend. I can't swing it. Missing 2 points races with WERA is tough but you gotta do what you gotta do. This sucks. |

I am surprised it had lasted as long as it did, so many things are in decline with this booming economy. Club road racing has turned into a luxury instead of a hobby. Thinking of switching back to dirt bikes, more options. |

Thanks Tim... gonna be interesting. Trying to figure out how to get my ass to Vegas. FUSA in 2004 was my last race there. Kind of like starting over. |
