Makes sense. Voltage transient causes the wireless receiver to "reboot" the connection, thus blinking the light. The main chafe points I can think of are where the wire bundle goes around the steering head up under the frame, where a wire bundle goes along the inside of the frame behind the rear head, and where the wire bundle comes up into the ECM. Given the "swerving changes it" behavior, I'd start with the ones around the steering head. My 9sx had a micro-nick in one wire up under the seat where some idiot (DAMHIK) routed it over the battery terminals sharp edge. It was literally almost too small a nick to see with the naked eye, but it was there, and it would cause the bike to very rarely completely shut down. Couldn't believe it when I found it, but taping and rerouting fixed it. Another great tip was in another thread this morning... Thanks Etenuly! It was that some of the early Uly's had battery terminal screws that were too long and would bottom out about the same time they felt tight. So while it felt tight, it really wasn't. Vern suggested trying to move the terminal when tight, and if it moved at all, you have a problem. Disconnect, really clean the terminals, and reconnect, and make sure they don't wiggle at *all*. Hopefully somebody else will chime in with all the ground points to check... thats another good possibility. |

Tore the flyscreen, chin fairing, seat, and air box off the bike this weekend and put her up on chocks with a fan in front. Ran the engine at about 4K while spraying with a water bottle to see if I could recreate the issue but no joy. I went through about a gallon of water easy and ran through a gallon or so of gas but it never stuttered once. I paid particular attention around the plugs, the ECM, and wiring in and around the steering. Was also mindful to put down enough water so that it wasn't boiling off in a flash. Anyone wanna buy an 06? -_- |

I hadn't. I'll have to doublecheck when I get home, but I think my lights are all working OK at the moment. Thinking it might be a different wire fuzted up in that general vicinity then? |

Yes, if it's a floating ground or something shorting out, it could cause all sorts of wierdness, no matter where it is. Your "swerve" aggravating the symptoms, combined with your wireless controller reboot, is what makes me want to look there. |
