This has been collecting dust. It's about time I put it on. What spacer/venturi ring do I need to mount it? will this work? stock Harley venturi ring #29179-88 or this spacer? http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/A5030FI.html Can I scavage from stock intake parts from the X1, M2, or S3 I have?

Those air cleaners are junk......send it to me & I'll get rid of it for you HA,HA! I would go with the stock one, and yes you should be able to try to make the fit with other parts but remember the other ones are carbed bikes. |

LOL! I will keep u in mind if I change my decision. The X1 & S3 are EFI. I have 3 sets of stock air cleaner setups from various Buells. What part # do i use? Just the venturi or the American Sport Bike spacer or both? |

Well if the backing plate hits bodywork or the frame...you need the spacer. It goes between the TB and the backing plate. The venturi goes inside the filter. |

Thanks Rat. so if I need the spacer I'll also need two gaskets, one on each side of it. The venturi mounts to the plate on the filter side. Do I need a gasket between venturi and backing plate? |

BSA, It is money well spent to get the NRHS made billet backing plate for the Buell CF race intake. Al at American Sport Bike sells it. I tried a couple different stock backing plates and never found them really satisfactory but the billet made piece is great and incorporates the venturi, etc. Nice handle by the way, but Triumph rocks!! |

My bad, guess I was daydreaming about warmer days when I looked at the bikes you listed. 2 gaskets is what you need. Are you going to get the plastic venturi ring to go with it? Can't remember for sure now but I think the last one I put that kit on was a carb conversion so you may end up needing the thicker spacer after all. |

Thanks Outdoors. Love Triumphs too, just sold my 70' TR6R last year as well as my Trident. I also had a 03' Sprint for a few years, one bike I wish I would have kept. One thing remains the same..I will always have a Norton and Buell in my stable! |

I've got the billet piece from American Sport Bike. Much nicer with space & venturi ring already machined in. A hell of a lot sturdier than that piece of aluminum sheet. |

It's funny, this instruction sheet for the race cleaner air kit does not show reinstallation of the new backing plate & CF cover, only for the S3 & M2. For the X1 it show reusing the stock setup. http://clbres.servhome.org/dl_buell/91420-99Y.pdf |
