Youve had tank slap on a Tuber? Were the tires anything but completely shot? |

hmmm.... weird. There is a lot of rake on the front, just hard to imagine a tuber doing that. |

Seems like a decent deal to me, I've seen them go for a whole lot more |

I've bought from them in the past. Seem like good folks. I have had the front end get a little "wiggly" coming over a rise before. |

"There is a lot of rake on the front" With 23 degrees the X1 has the most aggressive rake of any of the tubers. |

yes... for a sport bike of the time 23* was a considerable amount. The modern gsxr currently has 26*, which is huge. |

The ROAD RACER used them at DAYTONA and other ROAD RACE TRACKS ... That is because the rules require them !!! The PROOF OF THE PUDDING is if you do not know how to properly set up the your head cone bearings YOU WILL GET A WOBBLE if TOO TIGHT !!! SO FOR SAFETY A STEERInG DAMPER IS NOT A BAD IDEA !!! |

Those are the cheap japanese ones that were selling on eBay for like 40 bucks. Unless it's Storz, Hyperpro, or Ohlins I wouldn't pay that coin. My two cents. |

I saw that ebay damper too...and thought about it (even though I can't justify having one for any practical reason)...but I think Brinnutz makes a good point about them being a little too cheap... “It's unwise to pay too much, but it's worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, you lose a little money - that's all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot - it can't be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.” -John Ruskin |

They don't seem to say where the damper part is made. Looks just like those $40 Made-In-Thailand ones that are on eBay sometimes. If it was made in the US, or even Europe, one would expect it to be mentioned. I had a Storz on my M2 before, but took it off. (Sold it!) |

It is the $40 ones lol. Also, if no one noticed that fella is a prime example of pure capitalism. All those LED lights he sold for $75 he got from Amazon for like $32. Hey, if it makes a buck and people pay, but this one is outrageous. |

I bought levers from this guy about a year ago, they work fine. I got them and they had the casting numbers on them that a simple internet search showed were the same made in Taiwan stuff that you can buy for much less. He had them in stock here in the US so I did not have to wait and they were only $40 for the pair. Biggest problem I had was the story he had made up, he is a lot less inventive now. At the time the eBay description stated that he found a small shop in Germany to craft the magnificent levers that were much better than the cheap Chinese stuff that might break and kill you. He has seen that happen! It was a really interesting read as it went on. Went so far as to tape a small paper on them with German writing on it. I asked him about his BS and he told me he was pretty sure the "pivot system" was made in Germany but he didn't know where the actual levers were from. Cleaned up his auction fiction real quick after this. I left a neutral because they were fine quality for what I paid & expected, he responded with an immature response I would have been embarrassed to sign my name to. As long as you know what quality you are getting run with it. He repackages cheap stuff better than the offshore companies he buys from and it's here in the US already. Jeff |

I bought something from him once but never again. Part didn't work when I installed it and he said I had to pay for return and then he would see if he would replace. I cut my losses and will never deal with him again. Life is too short to waste time or money on idiots! |

Tyre pressure/tyre condition/steering head bearings adjusted correctly/wheel balance/ tipple tree clamps /it goes on and on. If you get speed wobble check everything. Dampers are designed to stiffen the steering. In reality if you get a tank slapper there is something seriously out of adjustment. |

I have a stabilizer on my ninja zx10r. I had a tank slapper last summer in first gear at 85 mph on it......This is the second tank slapper i have lived through. The ninja NEEDS one!!! It has to much power and the front tire lifts with far to little ease. I have had my tuber up to 150+\- mph with no problems. A lot of people confuse a real tank slapper with a little head-shake. I hit a pothole going into a corner on my 91 ninja 600 and it slapped so bad the front tire was skidding back and forth as it slapped from side to side and i almost went head on into dump truck.....VERY SCARY!! |

And here's the $35 steering stabilizer: http://www.ebay.com/itm/400MM-7-Ways-Steering-Damp er-Stabilizer-Buell-Lighting-YZF-R-FZR-KZ-GS-GSX-G SXR-/270900637068?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories &vxp=mtr&hash=item3f12efad8c Comparing them looks pretty much the same to me. Just sayin'. I can't tell if it comes with the brackets or not, but they surely aren't worth $130. |
