I am getting excited about the next Gathering. I will take a look at the head count and order the timing covers appropriately. I am taking a way out of Colorado I have never traveled and it will be highway 50. I am checking for interesting stuff along the way. The map is a little misleading as we will not hit the Interstate at all and will be taking back roads to get down to 50.
We are hoping that Lynn has a teaching gig soon, she interviews tomorrow. Summers off for her so she will join me on this one. |

I would commit, except with my current job I make travel plans and cancel them just as easily. I really do not have much of a choice. When it gets closer, I can better commit. I realize that this will place me in a tent somewhere out of walking distance but that is the best I can do. Hope to make it and see everyone. |

I was trying to think of a cool name for the event like people did for the other ones. Jay came up with Roundup in the Rockies and someone coin the Texas S2 Step and our own Spiderman came p with Christmas in July. Anyone have any ideas?????..... assuming Loren does not mind. |

...I was trying to think of a cool name for the event like people did for the other ones I've been working on a shirt design for the one I'm helping Butch put on here in NY in 2013, and have been thinking about the same item! Butch, Do you have any thoughts on this? The only one that I've thought of so far (to steal (ahh, I mean HONOR, yeah, that's it!)from Frank and Jay) is.... "Empire Roundup". |

Frank, Make a stop to see Brutus. http://www.bigbrutus.org/about.html For an event name I considered Beaver and Buells, An S2 Gathering but figure some of you guys would get the wrong idea. If someone has something clever I'm open to it, but I also like building on our very short traditions and calling it a Roundup.....An S2 Gathering Loren |

Neil, I'm almost positive I can make this one. I'll get a room if any are still available and we can split it. Carl can't go (summer classes) so I'm going solo if you don't go. |

I wanted to come up with something that conveyed the sound and started with an O but am coming up empty. How 'bout "Shattering the Ozarks - A Buell S2 Thunderbolt Roundup". Seems like a bit too many characters.... |

@ Bluesboy: I had considered "Ozark Mountain Buell-Devils" as well! HBJ P.S. Where's Blake in all this fol-de-rol? He may not be lucky enough to own an S2, but he does have a tuber and doesn't live too far away from the Gathering site. Plus, he still has my "throw-away" video camera! |

As a general rule of thumb, I make it a point not to hit people who are much younger and larger than myself. YMMV. rt |

I really wanna make the event. But if Jay shows, I'll be too ashamed, on account of I do still have his camera that I was supposed to send to him years ago. Geesh, I'm an absent minded jerk. |

Hello! I just got turned on to this event from the Quickboard. I'm moving to NW Arkansas and it looks like the timing couldn't be better. Please add 1 on a KLR to this event. |

Right now, I'm trying to figure out a way to mercilessly goad a couple of friends into abandoning all hope and rising to the challenge of riding rather than trailering. So far I've got the following pearls of wisdom:
It's the journey, not the destination! Where the challenge is great, so too shall be the reward. No pain, no gain. Just do it. Chicks dig men on bikes. Warning! You'll never get that smell out of your Suburban's upholstery. What would Ferris do? Plus some wise words from great men (with inspiration from HellBuelly Jay):
I will not by the noise of trailers and the driving of SUV's advance you to glory: but by the Buellish ways of riding to lean. - Thomas Trabuellerne Buell glory—the attractive rainbow that rises in riding to lean. - Abuellham Lincoln The glory of a great Bueller ought always to be estimated by the means used to get there. - François de La RochefouBuell But I can rest only for a moment, for with Buelling comes responsibilities, and I dare not trailer, for my long ride to lean is not yet ended. - Nelson Manbuella Patience and tenacity of purpose are worth more than twice their weight of trailering. - Thomas Henry Huxbuelley Sure I am of this, that you have only to endure to ride. You have only to ride to lean. - Sir Winston Churchbuell The troubles of our proud and angry dust Are from trailering, and shall not fail. Shoulder the sky, my lad, and ride your Buell. - A. E. Housbuellman Vitality shows in not only the ability to ride but the ability to lean over. - F. Scott Fitzbueller Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I rode to the one less travelled by, And that has made all the difference. - Robert Frostbueller The Buell rider seeks the world we have lost—the lost valleys of the imagination. - Alexander Cockbuell To ride hopefully is a better thing than to arrive by trailer. - Robert Louis Stevenbuell I’ve often said there’s nothing better for the inside of a man than the outside of a Buell motorcycle. - Ronald Buelligan Help me out here Frank! |

Frank, I have ridden that way into Colorado from Kansas. There is some interesting roadside attractions that way. One of them being a crazy cutout sign garden with a very opinionated theme. There was also a great privately American owned motel we stayed at in the Colorado portion. I will pull up some of the pictures and get some details on them and post em up for ya. |
