>>>>Has anybody heard of Hero until now? Millions and millions have . . they are one of the largest vehicle companies in the world. http://www.heromotors.com/ http://heromotocorp.com/ http://heromotocorp.com/hero_admin/data_content/pd f/annual_report/Annual_Report_2010-11.pdf They are one of the most amazing and CUSTOMER CENTRIC (I tend to be very keen on the Customer end of the company) companies in the world. There are more than 8.2 million people in their Customer Loyalty Programme. I'll let you do the comparison. I want to say that Hero makes more bikes in a day than HD makes in a year but I'm not sure that is accurate. It does, however, provide a sense for what they can do with the world's most modern motorcycle plant. Toss in East Troy, WI USA and it's a WIN-WIN deal.

roughly 18 times more units than H-D; 5 and a half million units a year. These guys are big, smart, aggressive and very, very rich with BIG ambitions. Only reason to race in the USA? I gotta think they want to sell bikes here. |

Oh man could I use a little dual sport as a daily in-town commuter AND a pit bike! (too bad they aren't exporting, I'd have to gray market one of the little guys) |

>>> roughly 18 times more units than H-D; 5 and a half million units a year. 5.5M/18 = 306K H-D hasn't shipped that many bikes in some time. In 2010, H-D shipped 210,494 of their bikes. 5.5M/0.210M = 26 |

I said roughly 5.5 mil means I am only trying to get within 100000 of the correct number. The total dollars are a lot less than that however. |

Okay so now EBR and Hero have provided bookends to the spectrum of motorcycles. A hybrid scooter, if done right could be one of the most fuel efficient motorized vehicles on the planet; and the 1190RS, a balls to the wall big $$ superbike. Now how about something in between for the rest of us? |

"H-D hasn't shipped that many bikes in some time. In 2010, H-D shipped 210,494 of their bikes. 5.5M/0.210M = 26" 2011 had sales up about 23k units, but still nowhere close to 5MILLION! Thinking about that amount of motorcycles per year......its quite incredible. Especially considering a large market that they have NO buyers in (America) Court - I replied to a similar post in another thread. Yeah, its a lot, and it would be more in a day than HD in a year if they only worked 24 days. Again, in 24 days they can build more bikes than HD did in a year. Quite incredible. good to have the Danny/sponsor thing sorted, I know many were curious about it. Very excited about this, hopefully all of this money they have will help score more testing time for Eslick and May. |

I actually . . digging through Honda's public filings once. . wandered upon their racing budget. I don't recall the number but it was something like over $1,000,000 per day. Sometimes we loose sight of how damn big Yamaha (thanks for the GREAT grand pianos) and Honda (man, that generator is quiet) are. |

I don't recall the number but it was something like over $1,000,000 per day. I recall the old F1 car days. They showed up for the first to discover they were very much low on HP an high on weight. The racing engine folks were ordered to fix it and given a timeline of something like 6 weeks. when they asked what the budget was they were told how many HP they needed, what weight they needed and when it was needed. Cost was not mentioned |

+1 Court!I remember learning the only reason they could not have a 10,000RPM redline was the accessories driven by the belt would fail. |
