Is anyone thinking about taking one "last" ride this weekend? I'm not sure if it would be considered the last ride of the season, or the first one of the new season.......it feels like Spring out there today.

As I sit here at my home office, still working on job-related material I brought home to complete, it seems a bike ride for me is not too likely. A 30 minute bicycle ride appears more realistic at this point................

Alert to all; call to action!!!!!!! Mike (Coolice) emailed me the petition to oppose the opening of a commercial silica mining operation adjacent to Starved Rock. The details confirm that Route 71 will be subjected to semi-trailer truck traffic entering/leaving the highway every three minutes during operation! Route 71 is the wonderful stretch of twisties to the east of the park (east) entrance. This sucks. If this concerns you, I suggest contacting Mike for a copy of the petition to sign. The final approval vote for this is occurring next week!

I did not make it to Aurora until 7:30PM so I could not be at the go kart track, sorry. Of MOST important news, and it shows he can keep a secret so well. Mike Kirkpatrick has joined EBR as a crew member, the notice I saw did not say crew chief, but in time he can do ANYTHING. It is on my facebook page moments ago. Go Mike, and EBR! All the best! Proud of you BOTH!

Related to this. I hope some of you can make it to the closest AMA Superbike races at Road America this June 2nd and 3rd to see the 1190s, hopefully three of them race. If you buy a ticket(s) early (now) you can save $10 per day. Pretty good deal. Also, lodging in the area is already at a premium. I just booked an over priced room in Plymouth at the same AmericInn some of us stayed last year. According to Hotels.com there was one room left as of yesterday. Also, if anyone has plans for MotoGP and or The Indy MIle, you can get a deal on a very nice place, the Crown Plaza that some of us have stayed the past two years thru Hotwire for about $98. That is the weekend of Aug. 18th. Now that we know where the infield (free) parking is, it makes much easier to get there.

I had hoped to make more meetings, this Thurs, right?, but I'm just too tired to stay up past 7p now a days.
Hope all is well with everyone.

I have made repairs to the bike and had the fork re-built, the shoulder isn't quite healed completely, but should be by the time riding season returns.

I made reservations at the American Inn as well. Sharon and I may elect to stay at another place in Elkart Lake depending on her schedule at school since she is still working.

I thought about the Victorian Inn but it does not have many good reviews. Dana, how is the place? You stayed there last year.

Went out for a 60 mile exploration ride south of Munster. The bike started on the first hit and ran great. Cruised around looking for new roads. Can't beat a February 50 degree day.

Tim II, I wish I could have joined you on the ride yesterday. The air cooled twins always seem to run so fine at 50 degree temperatures and it feels good to be out in the heated gear. I purchased a used Suzuki sv1000s earlier this month, so I'm itch'n to ride and shake it out a bit.

Fellow WCC'rs,
I just realized that March 1st is this Thursday! I am NOT prepped for it and I cannot make it this week, other weeks I can be there. I will leave it up to the officers to determine where and when the meeting should be held. Dana, I believe is in IL, but I do not have a clue where Mike is, I would imagine either WI or FL, getting ready for Daytona, Tim your thoughts? Speedy is IL H/D still receptive to our having the meeting there? Tim II how about the mgmnt at your facility since the December get together? I sent an email out to everyone proposing a Daytona meeting place but that would be on a family day Sunday but just an idea? Our thoughts? Ride well all,
