We'll see if he hold's it through the AMA season though. This track is now on the AMA schedule for a round. I wouldn't doubt though some of the AMA superbike riders may have never been there or haven't in some time. |

Wow, May and Higbee are getting similar results on the 1190RS. Shawn ran away with one of the Superbike races at Willow last Oct. and won the Unlimited Formula 1 race. This coming Daytona should be pretty exciting! GO EBR!! |

"Did you hit a sale on wet blankets or something" funny comment, I'd not heard someone say that before. This is awesome, track record for a lap is awesome news Good to see they are doing more and more testing/practicing, will mean better results in the upcoming season |

FWIW, Geoff May previously held the track record from 2004 to 2008. Also, while Geoff's record may or may not fall with the arrival of the AMA, can't we just savor the moment for what it is; An American Motorcycle currently holds the track record at Homestead! It's pretty darn exciting if you ask me!! |

I sometimes feel like we're keeping a couple folks from their Optimist Club meeting. I've got lots of fun hobbies and never apologize for my enthusiasm. It's fabulous to see Geoff's achievement. I'm proud of him AND all the talented Elves in East Troy who have worked so hard. About 100 days to Daytona ..... See ya there. |

I'll be at Daytona again. Wouldn't miss it. As always, I will have steaming hot coffee and other tasty beverages at hand for anyone that stops by. |

Dana, What's the deal? Did you hit a sale on wet blankets or something? It's getting old bro. Nothing is the Deal Blake ask yourself that question sometime.... Bro?? Things is this track is new to the AMA season this coming 2012. The factory bikes from other teams haven't taken there factory race bikes with factory riders to the track to race..... yet...have they?? So even though Geoff has the track record as of now doesn't mean that per say Suzuki,Yamaha may not better that record during Qualifying when they race there this coming season??? So please keep the comments Bro. Im not say Geoff didnt achieve anything at all.lol |

I'm just weary of all the hyper-criticism, the compulsion to throw a wet blanket over any accomplishment noted here that tends to show anything Buell or EBR in a positive light. Doing so on this forum is just rude and bad manners in my view. I don't dispute your point, but it comes across here as trying to belittle a great accomplishment, just pissing in the punch bowl. I only mention it because it's becoming a pattern with your posts lately. What was that Scotch you told me about years ago? |

FYI: They don't count qualifying laps toward a track record I don't think. I think it's gotta be a race lap. |

"They don't count qualifying laps toward a track record I don't think. I think it's gotta be a race lap." Do you mean AMA or what? That, to me, is silly. It should be any time a person is able to lay it down it should count towards a track record, race or no race |

Most track records can be set when there is a "Official Timing" done by a race organization. This includes qualifying. They do however split them apart into "Lap Record" and "Race Lap Record" at some tracks. Doesn't seem to be a set rule. But I do know qualifying counts for lap records at most tracks as long as it is timed by an official organization. |

Blake I guess you didn't read my post as yours can be the same way plenty. I'm not downing EBR nor Geoff. Just stating facts. I'm a race fan through and through. I don't route for a brand, didn't when I owned my Buell's. I cheer for a rider. Erik is a wisconsinite as is Blake Young but I don't cheer either nor do I dislike either. Depends to me on how there season is going I guess and the racers attitude when interviewed. So don't say there is a pattern. I made alot of friends heres in what 11 or 12 years here. Been involved with every Homecoming since 2000 in helping organizing and making sure people had a good time. Now your gonna judge??? |

Top ten finishers 1190RS, GSX-R1000, GSX-1000, ZX-10R, GSX-R600, ZX-10R, GSX-R1000, YZF-R1, YZF-R1, GSX-R1000. That right there is pretty sweet to see. Dana mentioned attitude of the racers, Geoff sounds to have a very enthusiastic attitude and it was fun to read his comments. Looking forward to seeing the new bike put some heat on for all the world to see.

Just stating facts? Understood. My point remains. I'll try to explain better... Pissing in the punch bowl, killjoy, wet blanket. Example: Tell me something you're enthusiastic about or proud of concerning anything and I can undoubtedly offer a host of facts that tend to belittle or diminish it. That is what is meant by pissing in the punch bowl, a wet blanket, killjoy. If someone is a proud new dad or mom with a newborn baby, just inform them that millions of others who engage in unprotected sex are as well and that overpopulation can post a serious threat to the environment not to mention the cost of college being so high. If someone wins a race, always be sure to point out whatever fact outside of their skill might have aided their achievement, other competitors that failed to finish, or had fogging face-shields and the like. If someone breaks a record, always be sure to downplay it using whatever facts tend to do so. Pissing in the punch bowl, wet blanket, killjoy, all straight out of the playbook on "how to spoil a happy celebration." "Wow, she looks gorgeous, really got herself in great shape!" "She's no miss America and couldn't even qualify for the Olympics, not to mention that isn't her natural hair color, and she's just recently had her uni-brow tweazed away." Is it true that more homos ride Honda than any other brand motorcycle? I'm just joking bro! About that Scotch, what was it called? |

Its a great achievement for the brand for sure. I also understand what Dana is getting at. Do I think a year from now that Geoff will still have the record? Nope! But it is very cool that he does now. |
