CJ...Remind me to never get into a drinking contest with you!!! Blackberry Brandy and Southern Comfort W/Cranberry... Ewww, I am having a sugar rush and am on the verge of a coma just thinking about it. Last Blackberry Brandy I drank was at UW's Homecoming in 1966 (Damn Ohio State). I missed the next two days. Pretty much the same results with Southern Comfort ten years later. Seems I learn everything the hard way.

whisky without the e is an alternate spelling . .. .. always Scotch, never Scots (whish refers to the people, not the people's accoutrements) . . . .. trivia test time --- who is the influencial character I refered to in me post above . . .. . hint, this performer was personally responsible for keeping popular music out of Ravinia (an outdoor music venue in the northern suburbs of Chicago) for over 20 years |

From the linked site:
quote:Whisky (not whiskey) derived from the Gaelic for “Water of Life” (uisge beatha), spans centuries of tradition and national pride.
Try to pronounce this one when you're half a bottle down:

I think this is where I got the "Scots" from, as well as a few headaches in the past when money was short and time was long. Hmmm, money is short and time is short now, must be that age thing going on. |

cutty sark is to good single malt as a big mac is to aged angus beef. . . . . . same neighborhood, very different ends of the street . . . . |

Yep, Cutty Sark is the meat loaf of the Prime Rib industry. But hey, when ya wants a drink and ya walk into the state liquor control board store in your primary state of residence and ya check yer pockets and see what you want is no where in the range of what ya gots in yer pockets then ya do without or gets what ya can. ya know? Of course, the memory gets a little foggy when recalling certain episodes of life from 20-30+ years ago. |

dingdingdingdingdingding . . . . .good job, Brer Nev . . . .she exhorted the crowd to riot due to the sound system's inability to keep up with her band (as if any sound system could, at that point in history) . . . .. so, the crowd rioted! good fun, though Mike -- yer right, as almost always, but I find I've become a scotch snob at this point . . . . doesn't make a bad person, I trust, as I'll still talk to darned near anyone! |

As my friend once said when I criticized his choice in alcohol, "It gets you to the same place." As I responded, "It's not the destination, it's the journey." edited by dullorb on December 12, 2003 |

btw, a big thanks to Lake for the data on the as-yet-up-opend bottle of good stuff . . .. . I appreciate it . . . .. perhaps we should open it in the Entropy Lab during the Scooter Show Weekend? |

Janis Joplin, just like Stevie Nicks...Never an out-of-costume normal pic that allows you to get a feel for their real selves. Guess leading a Komic Kosmic Life just doesn't lend itself to truth in advertising. LOL |

at least Janis stopped acting like a 17-year-old before she got to 40 . . . . of course, she had help in that regard . . .. I'll take Christine MacVey (nee Perfect) over Stevie Nicks any day |
