The books are just about gone. If you want one of the few dozen left you can order from a bookstore or from Amazon. The US and UK distributors are the only ones who have any copies left. |

It's a great book. I've read it cover to cover and many chapters, multiple times. It's an invaluable resource. Anybody who takes the time to participate in this forum should own a copy. Even the authors can't clearly recall all the facts in this book. |

I must have bought a half dozen. It's close enough to Christmas that maybe it's time for a couple more. |

Them babes are GONE . . Sold out! The remaining ones are on Amazon, Barnes and Noble and there are some (about 25 I think) with European distributors. It was a hoot! I keep the initial rejection letter on my desk. When the idea came to me . . I wrote 3 publishers. Tow laughed it off . . . and the Whitehorse letter came back "sorry, but for this to gain traction you'd have to have access to a lot of information that only folks within the company would have". The lasso went out and the deal came in . . . Dave did the work, I took the credit and . . . well, not much changed in the last last 27 years.

It was very much fun. If my day job didn't beat me up so bad I would try another one. I know what I'm doing when I retire. |

Ordered one from Amazon yesterday - - their "clicker" said only 15 copies left. . . Have no knowledge of the veracity of their counter, but I'd hurry if you still want a copy. . . |

I cannot wait for the second and third, and fourth editions. one about the enthusiasts of buell would be cool too. there are a lot of stories out there, but probably the untold stories would sell more..ahahahahahaha. Let us know when you do a book tour. we can all show up and get our new books signed. I bet white horse press is convinced now, huh? REX Any feedback from HD on the book? |

Amazon went from 12 in stock last PM to 8 this morning to 4 tonight, and the price dropped by about $8 across the same time span. |

>>> Wow! I see a fiver in there! I noticed that too. I figured he put on some boots and danced for all the one's. What you figure he did for that fiver? Court would likely answer "remind me to tell you." |

I hope you enjoy it . . . it was TONS of fun to do and we no more than scratched the surface. I have two chapters that got left out that I REALLY liked. . . my favorite was "Special Buells". That'll no doubt come out some time in the future. There are also some AMAZING tales that have subsequently occurred . . . some of them, if I shared them, would simply be dismissed as "that can't be true". |

Hey Dave & Court, As I was reading about Buell racing on page 98 a light came on. Well there is a story to this. I live in Virginia in Fauquier county. This past Fall my brother at I went for a ride along the Blue Ride Parkway on our Buell's through Luray VA down 211 into Warrenton VA. We stopped in Warrenton to watch my sons soccer game. As soon as we pulled in a lady approached us and said her husband once raced Buell's. That her boys were playing soccer and her husband was coaching. My son was playing in the same league as her sons. Come to find out that her husband was none other than you guessed it Clarke Ohstrom. What a small world. He still has a Buell race bike. The only motorcycle riding he does now is on a dirt bike around the farm. |

That is so neat to read. Part of the fun of writing the book was the chance to both relive some fun old stories and, perhaps an unintended consequence, the amazing folks we happened on to during the writing process. I continue to be amazed at how "chance" meetings . . . like meeting Mr. Hone in a Quick-Trip in Iowa at 2am . . . meeting a Bueller on an S2 and having the most fascinating conversation at midnight in the middle of Illinois . . . that always seems to happen. Fun stuff and I am thrilled you enjoyed it. I suspect there are some equally fun stories being brewed as I type this. 36 folks in a small building in East Troy working long hours . . . . you can bet something interesting is brewing. I continue to be amazed at how so many in the motorcycle community are looking one direction while the folks at EBR charge boldly in another . . . I keep waiting for someone to ask "what's going on?" I'm sure we'll be discussing it more . . . . suffice to say, there are some very busy Elves these days. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, Court |

Great story. I very typical Buell tale and tells you just how small a community it was for a very long time. dave |

Well, I might not be getting my copy after all Even thought Amazon showed "5 new, in stock" at the time I placed my order, it seems they don't have any. I only found this out when I questioned the estimated deliver of Jan 20th - Feb 27th. I ordered on Dec 13th. I guess there system isn't very accurate or all you Buellers were snapping them up fast. I'm very bummed now. |

>>>>I very typical Buell tale and tells you just how small a community it was for a very long time. I recall two of the HUGE moments in Buell history . . . The first is when our list of Buell owners suddenly required a 2nd page of a legal pad. Seemed HUGE to suddenly think there were more owners than we could list on a single page. The second is when Walt first put the owners list on a spreadsheet in Visi-Calc. I've still got that here and don't recall if it was in the book or not. Those were neat times . . . fun to think back when you could about name every Buell owner from memory. |
