I got mine, they look great. I questioned screwing the screws directly into the plastic originally not realizing the new machined peice was threaded. Thanks |

If I understand correctly this kit helps the cap "latch" shut properly and keeps the plastic teeth from stripping out. If your cap unlatches OK, but you are having trouble removing the cap once you unlatch it, you probably need to take it out and sand/file the outer edge of the black plastic section that fits through the metal ring on the tank. Those plastic pieces can swell, and get difficult to remove. |

Hope it works out for you Carl. Hellraged, Ratbuell is exactly correct. If anyone knows how to contact Jakenok (besides PM) he is the last person I need to hear back from. |

Sure thing Breadman, but it doesn't look like there will be enough at this time. If there is enough interest, it is possible I could make another batch, but chances are it will be more expensive. |

Hi Matrim I'm having the same gas cap problem with my 2000 Lightning. I'd love to order one of those pieces if you have any more. |

Hero Matrim! I appreciate the innovative fix that you have created! If a 2000 M2 has the same weak gas cap then I surely would like to purchase your fix. What paypal address would I use? Thanks! jack |

Got It installed. Works and looks great. I have a tip, using a Unibit is the way to go for the 1/2 bore. Cuts clean, true, and with no possible way to tear it up like with a big bit. Also you end up with a nicer round hole. I ended up putting the screws in the other direction because the plug attach screw holes are tapped. Just had to get in with a dremel tool and remove some plastic to make room for the screw heads. Also this way I don't have to worry about striping out the plastic with the screws. Thanks again and good job. |

Glad to hear it came out well Psykick. The Unibit is a great idea (too bad I don't have one.) Since the nut is holding the part down you don't really need to worry about the plastic striping out. Even if the screws were just rods pushed into the plastic, the part could only come off if you took the gas cap all the way apart. The screws are just holding it in the correct orientation. I'm sure your method will work splendidly tho - if not a little labor intensive. |

Matrim, Did you get everyone taken care of? And do you have any spares left to sell? |

Sorry to everyone who was looking for extras. All of the parts have been spoken for. If one is for some reason given up, Hootowl is next in line. If there is enough interest there's a possibility of doing another batch. Chances are they will cost more tho. |

Matrim, I'm new to the site but found it after researching this problem. I'm also proud to have recently joined the Buell owners club (2002 M2). Please add me to your list on any returns and/or to your list for new interest for one part. Thanks |
