On tubers, does the hub area of the wheels match up with those on a Sportster? I know the rear pulley is interchangeable, so I was curious if the brake rotors would be as well, and if the hubs would have the correct spacing. Don't be afraid - I have a project in mind but I'm not looking to put Sportster wheels on a Buell |

So would a sportster pulley on a sportster hub fit on a buell axle with buell bearings?? I don't care if the rotors are the same, only asking if a buell rotor will fit onto a sportster hub. *edit* looks like at least one guy had to have cutoms hubs made to make it work. I'd like that modifying stock sporty hubs and maybe adding spacers or something should work as well... What I'm trying to find out is how to get a set of laced wheels on a tuber. I know it's been done before I can't find out how... (Message edited by xl1200r on November 02, 2011) |

You may have to measure a Buell to compare but here are the measurements for Sportster hubs: Brake rotor and pulley both 5-hole, 3.5" BCD, pulley bolts size 7/16x14, brake rotor bolt size 3/8x16. 1999 & earlier hubs have 1.986" locating diameters on both sides (the lip that centers the rotor) 2000+ hubs have 2.208 locating diameters on both sides |

there are companies who will make a laced wheel for a buell, but pricey! |

I'm thinking that, at a minimum, I'd need to have spacers made up to bolt to the XL hubs, especially on the rear since the wheel (and therefore the distance between the pulley and rotor) is so much wider. I'd think these would be much easier to make than an entire new hub. I did email an old BadWeB member who had put laced wheels on an M2 and he put me in touch with the company that made the hubs for him. I've sent an email to see what the cost would be like. |

Can anyone divulge what Company makes a laced wheel and/or hub for Buells? Not post a link, but at least the name. |
