I originally posted this on ADVRider, but I figured it may get a bit more attention here: I really wasn't expecting to sell this bike. It's too much fun to ride to go and sell it. But the damn thing has been sitting since I got my Concours because I set them both up to do the same thing, munch miles. So, it's with much reserve I offer up my baby, a 2006 Buell Ulysses... The tales.. It's been to Ureka Springs, Key West, International Falls, Mount Washington, and all parts in between. It's barely broken in at 35,000 miles and counting. I just did a full service and then some. I changed the clutch bearings, the clutch cable, changed to XB-9 gearing (still have the 12 gearing if you want to change back) did all fluid changes, and said a little Buell prayer for 35,000 more uneventful miles. It's seen the rain. And the hail. And the snow. This bike has seen it all and can do it all, provided the rider has the set to do it. It's been off road, and it has had it's dirt naps. Therefore, it has some scratches on the left side frame puck and mirror maybe the right side too. Most likely the bag too. Both bags. It doesn't favor one side over the other when gravity takes effect. But.. I wouldn't hesitate to take this bike across the country tomorrow. In fact, I was planning on just that until a misplaced clutch boot caused water to infiltrate the primary and roach the bearings. I replaced the bearing before anything happened and all is well again, but it was too late for the cross country trip. I bought a Concours to do it on. And such is the Buell's downfall. They both eat miles. They're both comfortable as hell. I wish I could keep them both. But they're just too much alike. Except for one thing. SOUL. The Buell has it. But I need more cross country- carry my crap- wind protection- comfort. Damn, I wish soul would carry more stuff and block more wind. So, here it is, my baby, up for sale. I can take more for sale like pictures tomorrow, until then, it's just pics of what it likes to do. Get out and ride... If you can't stand to see a bike like this, I don't want you buying my bike: I have a brand new set (front and rear) of Pilot Road 3's for the bike, a few oil filters, seals and gaskets to throw in as well. I have no clue as to what folks are getting for these bikes, so I'll throw out a number. If you insult me, I'll research it: $4700 I also have a set of aluminum panniers I made for it just about ready to bolt up. If you want them too, we can work it out. If not, I'm sure I'll find someone who wants them. The bike comes with the Caribou Cases and the tank bag for what I'm asking. -darrell |

The next day I put up the "For Sale" pictures, but I'll save you all a day and put that post up here now: Here's a few pics and a few more details: Things I didn't list in my first post: Polly Heaters: installed in the bars. Switch mounted just above ignition switch. HID Highbeam: I had HID's for the low beam too, but it burnt the reflector. New updated headlight housing installed and wired for both lights on with high beam. Still have the HID I took out and that will be included K&N Air Filter: Airbox mod has not been done. New Fork Seals: Replaced the seals about 600 miles ago and, with that: '07 Fork Spring Upgrade: Much better springs that greatly reduced front end dive when braking There's more details I'm missing I'm sure, like the Service Manual, Touring Windscreen (stock screen included), Buell Comfort Grips... Yup, the muffler is rusty, but it performs just fine like it is: The "damage": The left side pannier had to be replaced after a deer tried running through it. As the panniers are guaranteed, all I paid for was shipping for a new box from Caribou Cases. No damage to the engine or cases in any of the falls: Questions, offers, threats, whatever, just PM me. -darrell |

Sorry, I sold my 1125R earlier this year, I'm not looking for a sportier bike. I'm more interested in trading for a Triumph Scrambler or Suzuki DR-Z 400. -darrell |

Thanks. The bag is a T-Bag. It's the Helmet Bag. http://www.tbags.com/detail.aspx?ID=20&SelectedCat=2 Fits damn near perfectly over the triple tail. That bag has probably over 15,000 miles on it and still looks brand new. Pricey but worth every penny. -darrell (Message edited by darrell on November 03, 2011) |
