I've read that with extensive research Erik and the elves realized that slotted rotors run cooler than cross drilled. I also noticed the 1190 rocking one in its photos! Is there anyone selling slotted rotors for the 25R I found nothing using google! |

You can get them through Erik Buell Racing, they just don't have them listed on the website yet from what I've heard. |

George, The 5mm Finned Rotor is a nice upgrade. It's my *suspicion* this would be good enough for you. If you are having heat problems, I can probably help. I've had to work on the brake system a lot to get around heat related issues and I think I've got it pretty sorted at this point. |

I'm not capable of overheating the brake with my skills IMO. But I know it wouldn't Hurt and I think being just slotted would look badass!!! I will be hitting up the mid ohio track days next spring so any brake improvement would surely help!! |

Spend your money on pads or the rotor mounting kit before you worry about the RS rotor... |

I have the rotor kit, Brembo RCS master cylinder and race pads from mainland Europe and a "braking" wavy disc rotor. This has stood up to three hard track days already and although the caliper gets mighty hot it hasn't yet been an issue. I intend to make a cooling duct for the caliper over the winter |

> I intend to make a cooling duct for the caliper over the winter Take the pad retaining clips out before you go to the trouble of a duct. |

Well I'm going to start by upgrading to ferodo XRAC pads there descriptions matches my riding style very well!!! What improvement would I notice from the updated "rotor mounting kit"??? |

> What improvement would I notice from the updated "rotor mounting kit"??? Less heat related fade. The rotor mounting kit works by holding the rotor against a copper washer and the mounting face of the wheel itself instead of springing it away from the wheel. This transfers more of the braking heat into the wheel instead of limiting the rotor's cooling options to air alone. The only drawback to the approach is the mounting kit likes a wheel with around .010 of runout or less, and .020 is common among OEM wheels, and I think the spec is something like .030. It's possible you will have to either machine your rotor mounting points true, or use one of my solutions, basically variations of the mounting hardware that allow for greater tolerance than the Erik Buell Racing kit. |

> those some Ti bolts on that caliper and rotor? Yes. I had them custom machined to my spec by Mark at Whitebread Racing. http://www.wreproducts.com/ The caliper mount bolts include an integrated spacer that makes wiring easy as you can see above. I can look up the specs for them if you want to have your own cut. I'd be up for another set of both if Mark needs some volume to make the custom set-up worthwhile. The washer against the rotor is a selected SS316. It's thinner than the EBR part, and allows the rotor a little more float, but still holds the rotor against the wheel. I couldn't find a precision washer in the side I wanted, so I order a big box of a stamped part and select using a caliper to find a matched set. I also replace the belleville washer on a pretty regular basis. After a few heat cycles, they do loose their spring. I tried some Inconel washers which have a much higher service temperature, but the only available parts I could find were too strong and negatively impacted the rotor's float. |
