I recently did the whole rocker gasket deal and put the bike back together. Thanks forum friends for the help. It started right up and ran great with no oil leaks. A couple days later, I go to start it and I just get a ticking by the starter area. I had the battery checked and they ran it through some diagnostic. It was completely discharged but did take a charge according to their machine. Took it home and same ticking, no start? Any ideas? Did I knock something when working on the rocker cover? But it did start for a few days after?? I did loosen some big ole ground wire/cable that I tightened back up when done? Took battery out of course and put it back in. Any help is good help. |

Chech the battery connections including the big ole ground strap. If it was completely discharged, what discharged it? Or did it not charge back up while running? If it was discharged, maybe you left the key on. The battery, unless they did a load test, can be faulty and show fine and completely discharge almost immediately when you go to start the bike. If it wasnt charging and the bike was just running on alternator/battery, then its possible you disconnected something (I cant think what given the recent repair), or a battery cable was not connected well (which sounds very likely). |
