Hey guys Im in need of new brakes for the front! I'm mostly street but its mostly fast paced rural country roads and I plan on doing several track days next year! Whats your guys opinion of pads that would best suit my riding? | ||

I hasve used Ferodo pads on my S1 for years. My CR just got a set and I like them, they come in a little sooner than stock. Google - FDB2240 ferodo brake pads | ||

Try these guys: www.braketech.com They stock both the street and race options, and have excellent racer support. I had a really good experience with them when I tried the Ferodo. | ||

If that's the high end race pad, I did. They are not as sticky as something like the Vesrah from Erik Buell Racing, but they are good pads. The price is right, too. They are a lot less expensive than other race pad options. | ||

I've been using EBC HH pads on my bikes for years. They are great. And coincidentally, I just yesterday replaced the OEM pads and flushed the front brake fluid on my Buell - EBC FA454/4HH. The kit contains four pads which is what you need for a front brake job. I haven't even bedded them in yet but given my experience, I'm confident they'll perform. | ||

I would NOT suggest the Lyndall Golds. They stop the motorcycle. That's about the best I'll say about them. I use 4 fingers on the brake lever. They have no bite to speak of, and sort of get around to slowing you when they feel like it. NOT confidence inspiring, and I'd definitely not take them on the track. | ||

Oh yeah, I also installed a Goodridge Speed Bleeder (8mm x 1.25 SB8125) in the front caliper. Flushing brake fluid has never been easier.  | ||

I don't trust speed bleeders. A bit of clear tube and a jar or beer bottle works best in my opinion. | ||

I recently replaced my well-worn stock front pads with some EBC HH and I can't tell you how much I HATE them over the internet on a censored forum. These pads are TERRIBLE. I have to pull on the lever HARD to get the bike to stop now. There is NO, NONE, ZERO initial bite. Forget 2 fingers, you need 2 HANDS to haul the bike down. NEVER again. I never thought I would say something like this, but I like the stock pads MUCH more. ac | ||

> EBC are either great, or horrible. They offer multiple compounds, and so comments could reflect that. They could also reflect use or even bed-in differences, as well as rider preference. I used the EBC Extreme Pro (not the regular HH) with decent results for track days and even racing. They weren't horrible. | ||

i've got a pair of EBC HH street pads on now. in the mountains two up they show a little weakness but over all for the street they are usable with good initial bite | ||

I have a little over 200 miles on the new set of front EBC HH pads. The initial bite, progressive control and ultimate braking force are perceptibly improved from the stock pads. When I changed the pads I also flushed the fluid and cleaned the rotor with brake cleaner. AVC8130, is there a chance you have something amiss with your setup? Might you have introduced air into the lines or contaminated the pads/rotor with brake fluid? I don't understand how we could be so far apart in experience. I find these to be really good pads. As I've said before, EBC HH pads are usually better than stock, but inferior to truly good pads. |
