Bought a $1 level and cut it to extract the actual level
![](http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290431/652697.jpg) and rest it on the engine
![](http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290431/652698.jpg) The engine isnt actually level there but if you mark your stick you will at least get the same measurement every time. I actually run between full and overfull line so this works perfect. Just thought Id share. |

Great idea! I was thinking of putting mine up on the rear stand every time to check, but forward cant probably would make it show low... This may be easier. |

When you are balancing the bike for the "upright/vertical" check, the front wheel must be straight, right? |

I wonder why they don't just make it where you fill it until it overflows, and just cap it. They could engineer it to work on it's sidestand even. 100% consistancy, just fill it till it runs over, and cap it. No more dipstick |

Not a bad idea, but instead of busting a level, just buy a string level which will do the same thing and even better. They are cheap also! Like the idea though! |
