Getting ready to order a new set of skins for my 2010 Uly Police, got 5200 out of the stock set, replaced with BT021 bridgestone and only 3800-4000 miles out of the rear same exact type of riding. Looking for a little more mileage for average street back and forth to work kind of stuff average to aggressive street use. Any suggestions?

For strict road use:
Pilot Road 2's are great
Pilot Road 3's are even better

For less expensive:
Shinko Ravens work well, but won't see the mileage the Pilot Roads would.

For a little dirt:
Pirelli Scorpion Trails last a long time, and are slightly more robust than those previously listed.

There are a million others that work just fine, but I believe those above are the leaders of their classes.

Any dirt? If no dirt, get Pirelli Angel ST. If yes to dirt, Pirelli Scorpion Trail.

+1 on the Angels. I got ~5k out of the stock Strada rear, and am over 7k on the Angel replacement with plenty of tread left. Good sticky tire in the wet or dry with good feel.

I've got about 3500 miles on a set of PR3's so far. As far as the tread wear, I couldn't be more pleased. They look almost new and show no signs of flattening in the center of the tread even after extended high speed interstate trips in hot weather.

After my 2nd trip riding in the twisties I find that I don't like the way they steer quite as well as the OEM Pirelli Scorpion Syncs. When I REALLY push the PR3's, it seems like they have a tendency to run wide whereas the Pirellis seemed to KNOW where I was trying to put the bike and hold the line better.

I've obviously got a LONG ways to go on these yet, but I think I'll try a set of Angels unless my opinion changes in the next few months.

Over 8000 miles on my rear Pilot Road 2 so far. Doesn't look half worn out yet. I bought the "B" version that's reinforced for loaded up sport touring or riding two up.

For street my PR2's are doing fantastic. They do turn in slower than the Metzeler R6's I had but they last twice as long! Since I do occasionally dabble in dirt the Pirelli Trails are on my short list next.

I've had really good luck with Avon Storms on a few bikes, haven't tried them on the Uly yet. On the TL and 919 the Avons are good for 10-20k miles depending on load and temps (wear more in summer than winter) and imo stick better in the wet and cold than PR2s. I haven't tried PR3s yet, but probably will next time around given the fanfare around their wet weather performance.

PR2s are an amazing tire. The only problem I found with them is that they last so well you can end up with a bad puncture before they wear out. But thats just bad luck like any tire.

Its a well known fact that PR2s are a great road tire, handle and last very well. You can use "iron hoops" on your Uly but if you want it to, and it can ride well then use some good rubber. It dont cost that much more anyway.

I currently have the ravens and will be removing them before their time.
Really tired with the "hunting" going down the road. I noticed it from the first HWY miles after I mounted them.

Two more happy PR2 owners here. We've put about 5K on the XT's PR2's in varying road riding conditions, including some gravel, but minimal dirt. They replaced Pirelli Angels which would have flat spotted by now.

When time comes to replace tires on both Ulys, both will be getting PR2's or PR3's.

Excellent bang for the buck, very pleased overall!
