I'm running an HID in my high beam and debating whether I should upgrade the low beam to HID as well. I wasn't sure how the HID was going to perform, so I left the low beam on halogen. Considering bike safety and durability of these lamps, what do you think? If I do the upgrade, I'm going to trigger the low beam relay with the high beam via a diode to make sure that both lamps are on when switched to high. |

The answer you will probably get from most will be no because the housing does not properly disperse the light and it "blinds" other drivers. I say the more light the better. HID should be used with a projector lens housing like on the XBR. There are a couple write-ups on how to have both on with high beam. It involves swapping the white and yellow wires on the headlamp wiring harness connector by the steering neck. |

You really won't need the highbeam after putting HID in the low. I recommend you just swap the bulbs and see how you like it before going nuts with the unneeded relays and diodes. |
