Central Texas HD broke mine while attempting a TPS Reset, and won't own up to it. Where can I get one? I hear there are newer designs out there. It's for a '99 X-1. How hard is this to replace??

Not saying they didn't f' it up. But, mine was unmolested when it broke riding down the road. The early design was inadequate and was updated to a superior design. Make sure you get the correct replacement. The last P/N I have is 29536-99YA and was $89.00 when I bought it several years ago. I believe that the P/N and price have long since been changed. Good luck and keep us informed.

Don't believe it was a recall, just made available at a fair price at the time.

You should be able to buy the TB by itself without the front snout and the injectors. Just make sure you buy the seals since they'll probably be damaged during disassembly.

Is the '99 shaft the same as an '06 Uly? '07?

Got a new shaft, and am ready to put it all back together. How much gap, if any, should be around the butterfly when closed? I'm sure there's some as there's no bypass for idle, but how much? A pic would be great. Thanks.

There is no gas when it is fully closed. You set the gap by adjusting the idle after you reset the TPS.
