Will do. As long as it's the 7 degree left bar, we're golden! Thanks. |

I have a pair that have been shortened about 3/4" Mine are from an x1 tho.. unsure of the degree. I assumed the bars were the same and the angle of the bars on the mount plate was different between the s1 vs x1. Can anyone confirm or deny this? Not to threadjack but I am curious if the s1 config will fit the x1 or vice versa. Anyone? Let me know if you are interested in the bars Ft_bstrd. |

i BELIEVE the 7 degree reference is wider for the Manta tank on S1s but is also the same as the X1.... 7degree = X1 = S1W(manta tank) James |

Nwrider, Are you talking about just the bars or the mounting plate as well? I'm only looking for the bars. If Ft_bstrd passes I may be interested. |

I have a set of standard cross roads bars for the small tank currently on my s1. I also have a set from an x1 the only difference seems to be the mounting plate the x1 version the plate is considerably larger which puts the bars father apart but also gayer forward it does appear that it would mount to the s1 but it would not be a very good ride and you would have to modify the windscreen mount and such! I should be getting the set for a s1 with manta tank shortly I will see what is diffrent between them all. When it's said and done I will have the standard s1 setup extra |

Yeah, I need the 7 degree because of the Manta tank. I need the left 7 degree bar. If they are straight off the top plate, they are 0 degree. |

That does not make sense to me? If you have a 7 degree down angle you would decrease your steering as the manta tank gets wider at the bottom so a 0 degree would increase it but not by much. I think the manta version places the at a different angle forward to create more space for turning! They may have offered diffrent pitch angle for rider preference thou! I will let you know all the differences in a couple days! |

7 degree bars do not make it only for skinny tank. I have 7 degree bars on my Manta tank M2 that were made for the Manta tank. FYI |

OK, just to clear things up a bit. Some history: Crossroads designed all this stuff, not me. So I don't know all the different constraints that drove all the design choices. But back in the day, Crossroads made three versions: Small tank (7 degree bars, 11.5" length, smaller plate) X1/S1W Manta (7 degree bars, 11.5" length, X1/S1W larger plate) M2 Manta (7 degree bars, 12.25" length) M2 Larger plate (I THINK different because forks are different, not sure) The difference in the forks on the M2 apparently required the M2 bars to be longer for Manta tank clearance. My guess is that the steering lock on an M2 is more because of the narrower forks, and that additional steering angle required the switch pods to be further out. The plate may in fact be the same, I haven't been able to figure that out because I don't have an M2 set here to check with. The documentation that I have is pretty crappy. Then Crossroads designed the XB bars. They used a different milled plate design that was a fair amount wider to clear the XB instrument cluster, but re-used the -7 degree 11.5" bars from the X1/S1W design. I mounted these on my XB9S, and then commissioned Crossroads to make a 0 degree version of them, with 10.75" length. I thought the 11.5" length was too wide for the somewhat twitchy XB design. A couple years after, American Sport Bike bought the Crossroads Buell line. We acquired substantial old inventory on all three types of the legacy bars, but had to re-CAD the XB plates and 0 degree bars. After a few years, the complete kit and bar inventory was largely depleted, but sales on the legacy tuber designs were pretty slow. We had a number of the X1/S1 plates and small tank kits, but no more M2 kits or plates. The M2 and X1 kits were discontinued. But we still had XB customers that wanted -7 degree kits. So we had a bunch of -7 bars machined, but at the shorter 10.75" length that works better on the XB. A customer with an X1 wanted a bar kit, and we had the X1 plates, just not 11.5" bars. We sent him a kit with the 10.75" bars, and he liked them at that length. So we revived the X1 kit until we run out of plates, with the shorter XB -7 10.5" bars. That's where we are now. We don't have any of the -7 degree 11.5" bars, nor the -7 degree 12.25" M2 bars, except ONE LEFT 12.25" BAR. Jeremy, You'd inquired about this the other day. I asked Joanne to check with you on what the bar length was, but I never heard back. If you have a longer 12.25" bar set, and you need a left bar, call me, we have ONE. She probably didn't know about it, it was buried here on my desk. Al (Message edited by al_lighton on October 19, 2011) |

Al, Since you are talking about old Crossroads stuff, Do you have any of the frame mounted rear sets for the Blast left floating around? |

Sorry, Al. I've been on the dark side of the moon for about a week. I have the 12.25" length bar, 7 degree. |

Yep the three sets I have all bars are -7 degree all bars are 11.5" the difference is in the plate the s1 small tank the plate is the smallest and the bars are at a little more angle toward the tank. The manta style is the same size plate but the bars are not at as much of an angle the xi plate is considerably bigger and the bars are at the least amount of angle! |
