My 1125 seems to have developed alot of play in the driveline. With the bike on the rear stand and in gear, I can move the rear wheel about 2" in either direction. My XB has no play at all. I'm wondering if something is up with the slipper clutch, or worse, something else. It's a bit unnerving when accelerating, and decelerating, to feel this. Kind of reminds me of my tuber. Is there any adjustments? Any ideas?

No odd noises or anything, about 2000 miles since the last oil change. Uses mobil 1, as I do on all my bikes. Froggy, there is no side movement, just forward and back.

There shouldn't be ANY movement, in any direction. I've never heard of this happening before, other than a damaged swingarm I can't think of anything that would cause it.

Is free play the same no matter which gear is selected? If so, then likely in final drive; if not, and if free play increases for higher gear selection, then transmission is indicated.
Are you saying that you can move the rear wheel 2" side to side or 2" rotation back and forth? There a BIG difference between the two conditions. And I don't understand your comment saying "reminds me of my Tuber". I have a Tuber and there is absolutely no play side to side but I can rotate the rear wheel depending on what gear it is in at the time.
Blake is right on target. My Tuber has a lot of rotational play, due to the belt tension, or lack thereof.
My XB, has what feels like ZERO rotational play, due to the belt tensioner maintaining solid tension on the belt.
My 1125CR, has recently been exhibiting more rotational play than I can remember. It is "comparable" to my Tuber. I havn't had a chance to throw it up on the stands yet, and check out the play through the gears as Blake described. I'm hoping it's in the cush drive.
So I got the CR on the stand today. I marked the belt so I could measure the distance it travels. I tried all 6 gears and saw the same measurement, 1 1/8" travel rotating the rear wheel forward and back. I did the same with the XB and the measurement came to 1/2". Just for $hits and grins, I measured my shaft driven Honda, i had to actually measure tire movement, it came to: 1 1/2". Not real sure what this tells me, I guess next I should remove the front pulley and inspect the Cush drive next.
I've put the bikes on the rear stand, marked the belt by the belt near the belt guard so I can measure the play. Then put the bike in gear, and roll the back wheel forward and back to measure the driveline lash, or play. On a chain drive bike, or an older tuber, you can move the wheel forward and back, taking up the slack of the belt or chain. the XB has almost no play at all, I'm seeing over an inch on the 1125. I can feel this when speeding up, or slowing down, the driveline lash.
It could also be play in the transmission... I noticed that my 07 XB12X has a lot more play in the new helical cut tranny then the old tranny ever did (but the new one is far better anyway).
Froggy, thanks for the video. Mine is much like your second bike in the vid. I'm going to pull the front pulley tonight when I get home and check the Cush drive. Starting to look like this is normal.
