You should put it in a zip lock bag and a box and keep it. Yo never know when you might want it. |

I keep mine under the seat as a spare. Cheap insurance. Simple diagnostic tool at the least. |

The ecm is only locked to firmware Pattern. From 2003/2004 to 2007. Any ecm can be programed to go from a xb9 to a xb12 or from the xb12 to a xb9 as long as you use the corresponding firmware eeprom file. |
