Was hit by a drunk driver coming home from a gig on the 17th. Broken leg, hip, and foot. Bike is probably totaled, still waiting on dickweed's insurance to come check it out. Really sux that this is my first post as a member here... Just lookin for advice / comments or anyone maybe interested in buying parts. When the settlement comes thru, hoping to buy an 1125R tho, so that's keeping me going Pics before & after coming soon... |

Before you do anything with trashing/parting your bike you really need to take a look at this kit that is in the process of being completed. Or if you really like your XB the way it is then you should consider buying my frame (gas tank) from me so I can buy the kit ;o). http://bottpower.com/eng/?p=378 Condolences BTW. I hope that things go smoothly with getting the money. I would be furious if I was put in that situation. Especially as a small business owner. I would be up a creek if I couldn't continue to work. |

Broken hip or broken pelvis? PM me offline if you have questions about dealing with the insurance company... I am not an expert, but am further down the road then you are in the process (settled for gear and bike, getting ready to settle medical, had a broken pelvis). My bike was totalled... because it would have cost a lot to fix every problem the driver caused when she hit me. But post settlement, I lived with cosmetic things, manually repaired some mechanically things (as opposed to replaced), and replaced the really broken stuff. I came out well, it wasn't that much to put the bike back in a roadworthy (but highly depreciated) state. As my uly is my "out of my cold dead hands" bike, it worked out well for me in terms of bike damage. (Not so much in spite of broken pelvis damage... no matter how much they pay me, it wasn't worth it. |

Adamnshame , keep your head up , time will heal things , and you will get a new bike out of it , just keep looking forward to that . Glad you are going to get back on the horse . And by the way , get an attorney and sue the sh$t out of the person that hit you . |
