Hi Guys If i decided to run a regular disc on a different front rim, would any other brake caliper fit the mounting holes of the 1125 fork? |

You would need to swap the forks also. |

There is only one caliper mounts on the right fork. So unless you swap the fork tubes too from the bike you are using as donor, you can't. |

It's more complicated than that. You will need custom yokes and mods to the radiator brackets. I know because I have done this very thing. |

I can mill new axles so i do not need to swap the fork. And i'm fine with only one caliper. But does any other calipers than the ztl2 fit the mounting holes? I want to fit a radial brake adaptor bracket and run a 6 pot radial caliper grabbbing a 320mm disc on a custom rim. I'm doing a custom build. |

I understand the question as looking for a caliper that would directly mount to the existing lower leg bosses....not sure if there's anything out there. You maybe could do it with an adapter bracket of some sort, but that could be a bit sketchy on how it will handle/flex under load. Av - you got pictures? |

I just thought of something else - Avalaugh? The ZTL brake system is set up to reduce the torque on the wheel during braking - forces are directly transmitted through the rim to ground. If you go with hub-mounted rotor, now you will induce more load on the spokes - They're likely over-built and can take the load, but seems like this is iffy in that the wheel is not set up for the brake application being considered. Again, Avalaugh - what is your experience with this - just curious.... |

The 1125 forks are much closer together than conventional bikes, this is where the problem lies, I can't see how you would fit another manufacturers factory wheel, plus you would only be able to use 1 caliper, and I can see no gains at all from doing so ! |

I think Andros wants to use a different wheel too. IMO the 1125's front wheel and brake look fantastic, but I struggled with brake fade, stopping power and general feel. It was not done on a whim, I spent ALOT of money improving the 1125's braking but just wasn't satisfied. Andros if your building a custom I would definatly keep the stock set up, it looks great and ultimate stopping power is not your aim. |

Thank you guys. I know it will be a tricky task but it will look cool in the end. It'll will be a power bobber.... old school lines, new school power =) |

IDK, the ZTL is unique. Switching to a regular setup hardly seems custom YMMV |
