@ Joe (Ratbuell.) That's an interesting comment about heads. I have the stockers ported by Nalin and was just about to spring for some T-Storms since I need to replace the pistons. You think the originals had that much promise, what with the 9:1 CR and all?

I'm very happy with the "stock" t-storm top end. My cars, I run turbos - so I'm very familiar with lower compression ratios and the fact that you can get them to make power. The way I look at it, the engine has great flow characteristics without huge compression, so I get to avoid hot weather detonation and have a strong, reliable engine. Just me? Runs great. 2-up or full bags (or both)? Still runs great - like at Homecoming - 2 up and bagged on the parade lap we crossed start/finish right around 110 (indicated).

Hey S2 guys, here's a link that should work for all of you...Searches all the craigslist listings across the country..

This one I did for Buell S2

I tried a search for Buell S2T but nothing came up.

Some of them expired, but still...A couple of nice ones out there!

Hey everyone, Could anyone point me towards a thread or an archive where I could get some info and S2 body repairs. My used 95 S2 was dropped at the dealer after the original owner traded it in. The damage is not too bad, but I can tell this is not an ordinary fiber glass fix. Any info that out there would be greatly appreciated. It's a portion of the tank cover on the lower left side.

Clarke_poos, I hope you stick around a little on this site. There is a Colorado section under the Storm Fronts called CBR. A few of us have tubers. I could imagine your shock to see all those S2s in your town. We had a great time.

Hey guys.....I am in Colorado springs, getting a new front rotor. This one is getting worse every time I ride it. Hard to figure, as I never push the S2. My S1's with high HP motors, I would abuse the front brake and never warped a disk???

Clark_poos at the S2 gathering..........

Ride safe...Jack

I was wondering about value for my bike - a '96 Buell sT2 touring. <4000 mi
one owner
all service at one dealership
some mods-changed turn signals(front and rear) to flush mount and rears are hidden under seat-stage 1 jet kit-K&N performance muffler-changed mirrors to handlebars
original paint - perfect
original hard bags
chinstrap from x1
awesome ride

just wanted to know if this bike has any more value than 4-5K I was offered

Blackdog: Low milage S2's and S2T will only increase in value. I would hold onto it if it is as nice as you make it out to be.

Wish we could have been there too. Maybe next year will be better.

We are hoping to make Buelltoberfest since it's not the same weekend as my sister's wedding. If we find we can go you and Lynn will have to pack it up and join us!

The last Quicksilver carb user checking in:

I had a problem with my idle speed on my S2. When I would return the throttle the RPMs would drop very slowly. Made shifting a nasty experience! If I snapped the throttle it would drop right down.
I called the Edelbrock hotline and got the supervisor Dave. He was very helpful and gave me the following troubleshooting guidelines:

Quicksilver Carb tuning. Sticky throttle
Test. Cables
Unhook cables from throttle drum
Start engine, warm up
Run carb by rotating cable wheel manually, see if throttle sticks
If it sticks
Disable (carb) fuel pump link, open throttle with cable wheel
If it still sticks
Check to see if the cable wheel Allen set screw is loose
If it still sticks
Remove top cap
Warning! Do not advance to full throttle with cap off
(Cap limits slide travel)
Check throttle shaft spool for looseness, tighten Allen set screw
If it still sticks
Check throttle slide return strip (acts as a return spring)
Look for kinks where the strip attaches to the drum for kinks.
If it still sticks
Send to Edelbrock for a rebuild. $79

Yes, I know some of you prefer to take the carb in your right hand and throw it as far as possible..

Call me a purist, I like to have my bike as it was created. Also, this carb has run very well over the years.
The problem turned out to be a throttle shaft spool set screw that had backed off. I could have tightened it myself but I decided to let Edelbrock rebuild it.
After several weeks of phone calling (carb guys went on vacation!) I got it back. Looks like a brand new carb. Put it on last night. Fired it up this morning and it runs like a top.

The Quicksilver 2 is not the carb that came with the S2, it is way better, so I am sticking with it.

Signing out -- The LAST Quicksilver guy.

Frank/Shane........Got to Mitchells.....had no computer hook up and had to change rooms. Did a little maintenance on the S2 and ate.

Good ride today...........some rain and fog......(just like being in the Ca. coast)........had to slow to 30-40 to see the road. I am at exit 332.....so we are close.

Just finished unloading the bike.

What's up for tomorrow??

Jack

On my 2002 M2}} and 1995 S2 (more pronounced on S2) from a standing start the first gear isn't engaged fully when the bike first starts moving and then it engages? Any insights why this happens and how to fix it?

Recently purchased a 95 S2 time capsule with 1000 miles it. It ran well on a short test ride, but on a longer ride it overheats, knocks, pings, and loses power. I hope I haven't ruined the motor limping home. It is a CA model, which seem to have leaner jetting and different timing specs for CA emissions. It is an early one, #70 off the line. It has the 6R plugs. I put a V&H muffler on it before riding it, and may have made the already lean jetting even leaner. I have purchased but not yet installed new intake manifold seals. Any other advice to help get it sorted would be appreciated. thanks.

my S2 service manual says DOT5 brake fluid, but the cap on the resevoir says DOT4. What brake fluid should be using?

I believe the cap is not correct... I asked the factory in 95 and was told to use DOT 5 in both brakes and have since then....... Even though the US Brembo sales rep said to use DOT 4...
