Am working with BMC Race Tech on a shortening/revalving of factory shock. Thus far, he is almost positive he can do it.I just need some pics of the shock mounted,so he can see the basic geometry. Anyone able to get me some photos? I will post up when/if it's a go. Thanks Mike! This guy has been great to deal with so far, and like you said, the pricing is fantastic. |

Sure man. What kind of angles do you need? I can take some and post them today if you like. |

I would say from sides, and top and bottom mounting points.I think he is looking for the angle of the shock in relation to the bike and see the swingarm mount. Buell: different in every sense LoL Really appreciate it, Bud! |

are you lowering for drag purposes? Anything else different? |

yes, just for drags, lowered and re-valved for 95% track use. I run in Pure Street ET (registered, state inspected,DOT tires,no bars), and occasionally ride to the track as it's only 10 minutes from home. |

very nice what track? Closest for me is about 40 minutes, wished I only lived 10 from one! so are they going to make it where it compresses quickly and releases slow or how does that work? |

Lebanon Valley dragway www.dragway.com Yes, they will make it squat quickly and rise very slowly going down the track. This is all new for me,cant wait till spring. " My Name is Paul , and I am now a mc dragracing addict" LoL |

welcome to the club Paul haha I would ride my S3 to the local track and run it and ride it home. I got hit hard by the bug man, now its track only. Its a fun sport, some AMAZING people that you'll meet. I race with the AHDRA and honestly I've yet to meet a competitor who wasnt friendly or willing to help when you need it. What other mods to the bike? And how much will the shock cost you? |

i will be (hopefully)stretching and slamming it,gearing,Holeshot Shifter and getting the race ecm for my Barkers. I ran about 6 weeks in '09 at 10.9s @ 127.xx with a shifter, pipe and tune. Only 2 weeks this past May,before my motor imploded. Got the bike back in August with a '10 motor under warranty, and ran 4 weeks of September. Bone showroom stock and footshifting- but the stars all aligned somehow. Was only cutting 11.2s @ 124.xx I hit the semis week 2, trophied runner-up week 3, won the class week 4. Seemed like everything was falling into place, and somehow I became everyones nightmare on the tree. After that finish , there is no hope for me now- I'm hooked for life |

Thanks Budgolf. It's a go! http://bmcracetech.com/ I have the greenlight on the rebuild, just waiting for confirmation of the standard price. He said he will shorten the shock 1 inch, which will substantially slam the rear, but not bottom out, and set up the valving for racing-with occasional street use. It can be also modded for mostly street/occasional strip. I will post back up when the price comes back,I also asked about a price if anyone else here wants to get this done. Standard is $199, which is 1/3 the price of a drag shock. Looks like things are starting to look good for feeding my addiction LoL |
