I'm looking at buying a used race ecm out of an 08R, I'm wondering if it will work in my 09CR. I know there are some differences so I want to make sure it will work, or if I have to send it back to get re-flashed.

you'll want it reflashed. the speedo will be off and the 09's have 'targeted' injectors the 08's do not.

The only difference in the programming between two equal ECMs for a R and CR is the speedometer adjustment. Both have the same maps, does not matter year.

How do you explain then they have different injectors, (look it up) with a different spray pattern?. and that this combination when using a 2008 ECM on a 2009 gives a lean mixture, or is that only in Europe?.
