Oh the humanity!!!!! Do any of these goof balls consider that a hotter engine/trans could be caused by EPA regulations? And what about all those onlookers who want to TOUCH that hot engine/trans, running or not? What about their rights????? Why can't people think for themselves anymore? |

My 1979 XLH never passed any EPA test in its life and when it was running, you basically couldn't touch any part of the engine, tranny, and of course exhaust. It wan hot enough so that if the rocker leaked onto the head, it would burn off. |

I read about a case with the concept of "Attactive Nuisance". A a kid couldn't help himself and touched the hot exhaust, got burned, parents sued, biker lost. It was the BIKE's fault, and the Owner was fouind responsible, he should have covered it before leaving, etc. |

Many Harley riders have forgotten that motorcycles should be hot, loud, smelly, and scare the crap out of you from time to time. |

AWWWWW come on now. When are we going to GET REAL. My boat/car/bike/4wheeler/etc. seat gets hot in the sun and burns my posterior. It is not the people or lawyers, heck they are just trying to make a buck. It is OUR SYSTEM that lets them do this to YOU and ME. If WE elect the people that allow this to happen well you can see. Personally I can not wait till we get freezing weather and I can stick my tongue on my cold exhaust pipe and be one with my Buell. |

I'd love to have each state enact loser pays laws. Bring a bogus lawsuit, and you pay for both the attorney's fees plus loss time and wages for the defense. Sounds fair. These BS lawsuits have to stop! |

How much is too much? My 96S1 has 95,000 miles and my 09CR has 14,000 miles, both get pretty darn uncomfortable in the heat. The 96 s1 owners manual advises riders to NOT idle in hot traffic, to pull off until things clear or engine damage could result. I have an old school friend who has several shovels and if he gets caught in traffic on a hot day he will dump the oil at the end of the day. My S1 is on it's third top end. I have almost stopped riding both bikes on 90+ days and if I do I will drop the oil and filter on either one. Does the 1125 cook its oil too? The CR shifts easiest before 1,500 miles with Red Line 20-50 motorcycle syn. The shifting is still great just a noticeable change that seems like a pretty clear indicator that the oil has lost something. Switching to Amsoil 20-50 next oil change. |

Put on a SPORTSTER OIL COOLER with thermostat, the BUELL Fan Kit, ST8A large oil filter in the OEM oil filter position, a return line oil filter the size of the small OEM filter which is a ST4967 and these are Wal-Mart oil filters ... NO MORE OVER HEATING !!! |
