I'm having trouble reinstalling the muffler. After struggling unsuccessfully to slide the muffler over the headers, I eventually slid the gaskets on the headers and enlarged the muffler openings by slightly bending the muffler open with pliers before I could get the muffler on. Now I can't bend the muffler tabs back in place with the muffler clamp. It isn't strong enough to compress them and I stripped it's threads by trying. So, I'm pulling the muffler back off, buying new clamps ($10 per) and gaskets ($6 per) and starting over. Is there some trick to getting this thing back on easier? |

leave front header a little bit loose to give you the 'wiggle' room you need |

http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/171 43/608173.html?1292369405 Make sure to loosen the right footpeg bracket (2 bolts) just a little. It makes a world of difference. I know the link is for removal, but it's just a matter of wiggling the muffler a little to get it back on. |
