Tried to lob onto an existing thread, but those are archived. Bought the Evotech tail tidy kit off ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item =170682628803#ht_2988wt_1396 Ships from England. Got it in about 1.5 weeks, so pretty quick. Packaging excellent. Kit completeness, excellent, you get everything you need Component quality excellent instructions were adequate, but can be improved I initially re drilled the plate to avoid using the adapters, since they seemed to hang so low. But reading on here and thing about it, I reversed them so they go up and was able to remount the plate tucked right tight again the LED illuminator using the adapter brackets. Works well when you do it right Installation was simple, took about 45 minutes taking my time. They could detail how to get the blinkers free of the stock parts, since you need to know how to feed the large connectors through the nuts, washers, and mounting holes. Novices might get stumped. The other place the instructions fell a little short was they didn't tell you where to run the wiring into the tail of the bike. After test fitting the cover plate, it becomes clear. Cover plate screws are a very small allen, would prefer a bigger one Lastly, I don't understand why the plate LED lamp leads weren't finished with connectors, but I have crimping tools so this wasn't a problem. 100% satisfied (Message edited by sprintst on September 12, 2011) (Message edited by sprintst on September 12, 2011) (Message edited by sprintst on September 12, 2011) |

take the lincense plate light off and I nestled the plate right up against the brake light between the turn signals. I just reversed the mounting brackets and it worked perfect. |

here you go, no I didn't do anything with the tail light and have had no issues with state safety inspections. I guess not exactly upside down(been 2 years since install), but I didn't need to drill. yes this is a very good quality product.

That is an interesting looking having it so high up. You eliminate seeing the stalks of the turn signals. Hmm, have to think on that. Redid it using the provided adapter brackets, but flipped up, not down. Works nice, tucks it right up to the lamp (Message edited by sprintst on September 12, 2011) |

That looks just like the tidy tail I have (got it from Trojan horse) but mine didn't come with any adapters. I just drilled holes in my plate |

That looks just like the tidy tail I have (got it from Trojan horse) but mine didn't come with any adapters. I just drilled holes in my plate They usually have the adapters inside the box in a separate small plastic bag. Evotech have forgotten to pack them a couple of times but we have spares if required. Lastly, I don't understand why the plate LED lamp leads weren't finished with connectors The same LED licence plate light is used on pretty much every Evotech tail tidy for all bike manufacturers so is a universal part. As various manufacturers use different connectors they are left bare to suit everything. |

I just got mine from Stoltec Moto, another small company like Sabre. I went with his because it was half the price of the evotech (which looks great by the way) and it was almost exactly like the model I had drawn up- but cheaper than I could produce just one. It is aluminum- machined very well and powder coated with a textured black. It tucks the stems back behind the plate so just the blinkers stick out. I'll put up some pictures when I finish installing it! |
