Hey everyone, I am sort of new to Badweb although I have been reading alot about my bike on here for about a year now. I am in need of an ECM for my bike ('06 Uly). Mine has the crack and I think it has had it for quite a while. Its now bad enough that I cant trust it too far without it quitting, then I got to pull over pop the seat and move the connector, listen for the fuel pump then away I go again, for a little while. Anyway, I dont care if another ECM is stock or race, as long as it doesnt have a crack and by the way, does anyone know what other ECM's fit? I mean I seem to be able to find 12r ECM's more commonly. I know they cant be too new but will an '04 XB12r ECM work, for example? Thank you all for your help and advice. I cant wait to get back on the road before winter hits! My number is 704-915-0822. Text me if you can as I am in school most often and cant take calls or at least I shouldnt. LOL! |

Well in early ecm's from my guessing i'm sure some one with ecm spy can put the stock uly maps on it. |

Any pre-08 XB12 ECM should work just fine. |

Any 04-07 XB12 ECM will work, but if you have to replace the ECM I would rather spend the extra few bucks and get a Erik Buell Racing Race ECM. |

Hey thanks guys. I have seriously considered the Erik Buell Racing ECM but have since gotten spooked after I saw the price but more importantly after I found that i will have to get the TPS reset from the dealer and wont ever be able to use my ECM spy again for anything on that ECM. I am not planning on doing much changing of maps really but I am considering an exhaust upgrade after I get the ECM as well. I have spoken with Randy Hawkins (he seems like a great guy) about his exhaust and may go that route. Money, of course, is always an issue although I am willing to spend some $$ for upgrades. I just didnt want to spend more for something where I may have been just as happy spending less. I guess I am referring to the fact that I hear some people say that the race ecms were a rip off. Although I have also heard that the Erik Buell Racing ECM's are worth it to most. Thanks. |

I have the stock 2006 ECM off my Uly which was replaced by the Buell race kit at 10,000 miles. I was keeping it around in case I ever switched back to the stock muffler setup. I might sell it if the price was right but if I was you, I would purchase an Erik Buell Racing race ecm. If your interested, send me a message. |

Yeah cool, I keep hearing (reading) that the Erik Buell Racing ECM is the way to go. I have no problems with that except for the fact that it looks like I will have to go to the dealer for everything including TPS resets after that. I currently have ECMspy but I understand that you cant use that with an Erik Buell Racing cuz it will mess it up. I of course dont want to do that and considering I have never been to a dealer yet, I am not confident in how they will treat me after hearing so many horror stories. I really dont have the money to play or pay those dealer prices. Would they even touch my Uly if I have something like the breather re route or any other mods? Thanks again guys! This site is great! |

I call BS on needing a dealer for TPS resets. I did my own with no issues. If the dealer software can do it, then so can ECMSpy. The dealer software writes to the same cells as as ECMSpy does. There is no logic in having them do it. Making other changes? Perhaps... |

As Andymnelson said you can do a TPS reset on the Erik Buell Racing ECM using ECMSpy but you cant make any changes to the ECM. I hope that makes sense. |
