Can I run this without the rest of the race kit? Would I get more midrange with this? Thanks Mike |

It took the ping/knock out of my engine and made it run much better!! |

Hmmmm....if it could possibly get rid on the ping I hear on warm days, then it might just be my first mod! Mike M |

"..get rid on the ping I hear on warm days" I don't think you should have any pinging on a 2000 X1 - the intake air temp sensor should allow for warm days (as well as the O2 and head temp sensor). Since only the rear cylinder is monitored, possibly your front cylinder is pinging for some reason? (lean?) Or the sensors are bad? |

The race ECM was the 1st mod I did to my '99 S3. It was a marked improvement. For the ping...I'd verify timing, correct plugs, and 91-93 octane fuel. DAve |
