Is there an accessories plug in on the 09 1125R and if so where is it? Also my wife was a little pissed about the overpowering fuel smell that lingered in the garage for several days after parking the bike. Is this normal? | ||

Yes there is an accessory plug. The female end is located be in the wiring bundle beneath the fairing stay. Here is a thread all about it. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/447043.jpg And as far as the fuel smell goes, Well when its hot outside these bikes will boil the fuel and cause excess vapor release. A California carbon filter is an easy fix to the problem. | ||

Depends on bike if you have euro or cali bike no. If you have 49 state bike yes. Can add the carbon canister to kill fuel smell. There is a dead head plug in the fairing. Take the plug out of socket order pins from hd then make it up how ever you like. Or you can buy the 12v accessory plug for the uly | ||

Maybe the smell I mean is just the fumes from the engine and exhaust that seem to linger for quite some time. | ||

Nope this is a Texas bike and we have been at 100 plus temps for quite a while. It is finally falling below the low 90s. I will have to look into the canister. Even if it hampers performance this bike has more than I'll ever need. | ||

Lol only neg thing with canister is some of us have experienced hard starts when hot. Easy enough to have throttle wide open on key on for 4secs to trigger plug clear though. | ||

If you overfill the tank, the excess fuel will drain through little pipes ending by the passenger left footrest... | ||

+ 1 GPB. I don't fill my bike up past the silver part of the tank (on the inside). If you fill it up to the brim under the gas cap, you won't leave any room for fuel expansion when the frame heats up. The gas will boil out of the overflow/vent tube that is behind the left passenger's peg. That's what causes the raw fuel smell | ||

I got rid of the passenger pegs on my bike and combined with the undertail/ stock license plate eliminator it looks totally bad a$$. But it forced me to reroute the fuel overflow tube. If I fill the gas tank to the top some seepage occurs out of the tube. Very irritating! I am currently fixing this situation by routing the overflow through a large fuel filter. I will post pictures and report on its success/failure when I am done. |
