I was just wondering if you put a 2008 engine use a 2007 throttle body on a 07 frame and use the 07 wiring harness and the 07 ecm, would it work fine? it's just curiosity. |

No, as the big issue you will have is timing, one uses a crank position senor, one uses the cams. Not that you can't work around that. |

It might be possible to work around it, but it wouldn't be simple. The cam trigger on the 2007 turns at 1/2 crankshaft speed and IIRC has 4 trigger sections on it. I've only seen photos of the 2008-up flywheel, but it has many trigger marks around the circumference. You'd have to figure out some way to take the output from the 2008 crankshaft ignition trigger and translate it into something that the 2007 ECM could use to work the ignition coil. If you had complete tech specs on both systems and were pretty handy with electronics, it might not be that hard to make work. As it is, you'd pretty much be shooting in the dark. |
