Hello everyone!

Next Tuesday I am taking my Ully for service over at Liberty HD in Rahway, NJ as recomended by fellow forum folks.

Since I just bought a 2006 used Ully I tought it safe to have them do a "once over" to make sure all is good. Recalls will be done, oil will be changed, filters checked, brake lines and pads, as well as all fluids, belt, etc.

I added that the rear bearings be replaced and they recomended having them check it first and replace if necessary, works for me!

Any other specific things I can ask them to check for that would not be part of a usual inspection of components?

I'd have the Primary Chain adjusted along with the clutch.

That way you'll know it's done correctly by a Buell Tech, and they'll inspect more closely it at the same time.

Order a service manual and start doing all that stuff for yourself.

Will do it but since the recall has to be done any way, I think a once over by factory trained people assures me a good start.

Rod, I would skip on the bearings, changing them out early just causes wear and tear on the wheel hub, after so many bearing replacements the wheel itself will need replacement. Just having them checked will be good enough assuming of course they aren't getting ready to fail.

Also for the future, I can do the tire changes for you, only catch is you got to get your ass to my place, which is a few minutes from the BBQ joint you are going to Sunday.

Thanks dude! A reason to ride up to NY, have some BBQ and chat with friends is good enough...getting help with tire changes when I need it is the extra bonus!

How many miles does it have on it?
If it's over 20k on the original bearings I would go ahead and swap them.
Check steering head bearings as well, I just put a set in mine, changed the fork oil and swapped the front wheel bearings while I was at it. The fronts seemed fine but one of the seals was starting to go bad so it wasn't going to be long.
BTW, all balls sells a replacement steering head bearing set that has tapered roller bearings instead of the roller bearings they come with.

HI there,

it's a 06 with only 4K miles on it so it should be good for the wheel bearings but they are getting checked. I'll request that the other bearings be checked as well.

If they're doing a standard 5k service, it will include clutch adjust as well as fluid replacement and throttle cable adjustment / TPS reset.

5k is a baby. You should be just FINE. Go get it dirty, and ride it some more : )

That's the goal! Starting Sunday to NY for BBQ! : ) Service guys asked me why i wouldn't drop it off tomorrow...because I got ride this weekend dude!!!
