So... I finally broke down and put some new sneakers on the S1W. Went to go for a ride this am and the front rotor caught my attention. It appears the tire guy somehow bent the rotor... Got to check with them and see if they will make good on it... |

That is why "i" take my wheel/wheels(aleays remove the front rotor) off for tire/tires ... Last time "i" had a HARLEY-DAVIDSON Dealer install a front tire the HARLY-DAVIDSON TIRE technician bent BENT the front rotor ... Went to the SERVICE MANAGER who said "i" brought it in bent, same answer from MANAGER, "BUT" the Dealer "SOLD" me a rotor for half price ... Need less to say "i" do not buy tires there anymore !!! I doubt it was from mounting the tire. Anybody who has done the job knows that you must remove the pads and push the pistons back to get the caliper off the wheel. Even then, it doesn't always clear. In that case you either need to loosen the rotor bolts or hope for enough float in the rotor. It sounds like he forced it off the rotor. Stock or aftermarket rotor? |

"i" was too scared to take them my complete motorcycle, so "i" just took the wheel with the rotor still on ... The rotor was bent while it was in the shop for just changing to a new tire ... |

"I doubt it was from mounting the tire." Bent rotors are caused by careless "TECH's" while breaking down the bead before dismounting. No excuse for it. |

If you rode it in and then can't ride it out, they bent it. |

Well, I was giving the tech the benefit of the doubt--thought they took it off the bike. You're right: bending it off the bike is just careless handling. |
