About 10 hp will make up that 15 seconds to first place. |

Aw man, Speed showed NOTHING of them Yes, the front was 100% excitement basically the whole time......... Both of them started pretty far back, so that's very impressive to have moved up and finished 6 & 7 |

The coverage of Erik Buell Racing was lacking, I don't even think they mentioned Buell even once. It was a great race though. |

few key crashes helped them move up but they are a young team just developing the bike. to be front runners they have a lot of work to do on the bike as 15 seconds back is an eternity |

"It was a great race though." I didnt watch the Speed coverage, but on live timing up until near the end the top five were within 1 second of each other (between 1st and 5th), so yes, bet that was some really awesome action up front. I dont care what anyone says, AMA is still exciting with lots of position changes and excitement |

About 10 hp will make up that 15 seconds to first place. Actually...that's inaccurate. Geoff doesn't need power, he's got plenty and that's backed up by his lap times (on pace with the leaders, if you look - 0.4 seconds off the pace puts him on the podium if he was up with the pack). You can ask him if you like - that's what I did yesterday. They are focusing on other areas for improvement. One "light bulb" adjustment (man, that was fun to watch...standing and talking to one of the guys and *bam* "I know the answer!!! excuse me, I GOTTA go tell the others...." and he disappeared in a cloud of dust) on Saturday made a small improvement Sunday in the area they were specifically addressing...but it actually made him faster than the simulations said he should have been in other areas. Surprise! An OVER-improvement Lots of data. And yes...it was some awesome racing. The '12 season will prove to be very entertaining as well |

They just need track time. These other race teams have years and years of time with their bikes. It AMAZING to have this many top tens in the first year on what is not far at all from a production bike. Get the time on the track and time to make adjustments and improvements and they will have a VERY competitive package. P.S. and get Eslick back on a Buell! |

Looks like Geoff wound up 10th overall in the points. That is a major achievement as well. |

Enough with the "a key few crashes helped them move up". Geoff and Taylor were on the same track that the crashers were on, and notably, didn't crash. Geesh. The crashers pushed too hard at the wrong moment, and crashed, and got passed as a result. Geoff and Taylor didn't push to hard at the wrong moment and as a result passed the crashed riders. That's racing. Jack and I were watching the race when the Kawasaki started moving up. With his first balsy pass, I told Jack "watch him, it will be a fun run, but he will crash before the race is over". |

I agree the finish was great but the thing that caught my ear was the comments about Knapp's bike by the commentators, "this was bought by a customer and pretty much put on the track, as soon as the race is over they are going to convert it back over to a street bike and give it back to the customer" (yes this may not be word for word) If that don't get your fire burning then your wood is wet! |

Actually they got a decent bit of airtime Saturday. Sunday, well when the front 4 are bouncing off each other and 2 of them are fighting for the championship you cant expect the rest of the field to get much coverage. It was a fantastic race. |

Taylor was shown sitting #44 Buell in the starting lineup for ~20 seconds or so around the 7 minute mark before the race started. |

The crashers pushed too hard at the wrong moment Last race of the season and its all or nothing for the front six riders. The Buells are a developing team. Theres was no reason for them to lay it on the line but facts are facts.. at this point they are 15 seconds behind the top of the class and wouldnt have placed nearly as well as well if .... it was the last race of the year and two of the top 6 crashed out. Now next year ... that maybe a whole different story |

Great Race the Big Four just had their Cheese moved. When the engineerss back in Japan get the race analyzed foot by foot Japanese version of OMG is the operative word off season. Danny Geoff and Knapp in super bike would make for great racing. |

"Enough with the "a key few crashes helped them move up". Geoff and Taylor were on the same track that the crashers were on, and notably, didn't crash. Geesh." Not at all in the same situation as the riders who went down, same track yeah, but one would think it was not the same race at all. The lead pack was mixing it up real hard battling for position, a few more laps Geoff and Taylor might have seen a podium finish. |

So... is Taylor going to stick with the 1190RS? I'm kinda confused about the bike swap mid season thing. I don't know how they sponsors work their deals/contracts. I wonder if we'll see more riders next year... Come on Danny! |

AFAIK Taylor ADDED the Buell. He was running in Sportbike class, and added the 1190 to run Superbike. Unless I'm missing a superbike entry that he was also carrying before the 1190... |

Yeah, he added a class, but it isnt his bike, and they are saying the bike is going back to street trim. So maybe he'll be back on an 1190RS next season, but possibly not on the same bike. Time will tell. |

Awesome! Almost makes me want to get Speed added to cable... 6 & 7 sound impressive, and overall 10th seems phenomenal considering they are just getting started. Can't wait for next season. GO E.B.R.!!! |

Congrats on your inaugural 1190 season Erik Buell Racing. Congrats on a POSITIVE season Geoff Mays. Welcome to the fray and CONGRATS Taylor Knapp! Driving my Camaro to work this week- Boss' truck blew a head gasket('04 F250 D). Going in solo Friday, guess I'll ride Loretta. WTG Erik Buell Racing |

I was chatting up a local racer who mentioned a reason they may have done so well.... They were racing each other. Knapp may have been pushing May who was thus pushing himself. End result is more confidence on the bike. Next year should be a year of greatness for the EeBbRr Teams!!! Maybe even with a new Buell 1190 version for the same price as a BMW S1000RR!! |
