quote:Taylor ran out of gas is all. Geoff spun another tire 180 degrees throwing the balance off. Gotta figure out how to fix this.

How exactly do you run out of gas at the track? Are they not filling up to save weight? |

A team with a new bike will often put in a measured amount for a prolonged run to gauge fuel consumption. If they cut it too close, the bike can run out of fuel. You run out of fuel by staying out too long and using up all the fuel. It happened to Ben Spies on the last lap of a World Superbike race. |

The good part is that they now know the exact fuel consumption. |

Anony: rim locks or screws into the beads, like on dirt bikes? |

Another tact for tackling the tire on wheel spin would be to electronically limit the torque (which could probably be done by altering the ignition curve), but that would be giving up one of the big advantages of the engine. |

Looks to me like Geoffs times are much closer to the top than they have been. Am I wrong on this? |

Another thought on the rear wheel tire slip- maybe they could knurl the inner lip of the wheel so it would bite into the tire bead? Might make it more difficult to get an air-tight seal though. I'm sure the Elves will figure this out shortly- hopefully today! |

What happened to Geoff on lap 11? Went from running 1:22-1:23's to a 1:33. |

Congratulations to RMR and Danny Eslick! With one race remaining, they've clinched the 2011 DSB championship. Get the man on a Superbike! |

Taylor was real excited when he got off the bike , had plenty of praise but still ideas on how to go faster! |

"Congratulations to RMR and Danny Eslick! With one race remaining, they've clinched the 2011 DSB championship. Get the man on a Superbike!" Yes and Yes I just watched the coverage on Speed of the DSB race. Good for Danny! And I noticed they mentioned the Buell Championship win and how people felt the bike had an advantage, but now its showing (as WE all knew before) that it really is the rider, that Eslick is just that good |

If May did btter on the start they'd probably have done better. Looking at their split times, he was right there with the top five, sometimes even beating their splits (i cant remember which lap it was, but May had the fastest section 2 time of anyone on the track, impressive) Good showing, looking forward to watching the coverage tonight, hopefully they'll show some of the ExBxR bikes on there since they were leading/battling the second group of riders (can only go off of what the live timing shows, but thats how it looked on there) Good Job to the entire ExBxR team for the season and really great riding by Knapp for his first time being on the bike! |

Just got a note from Erik ...... Talk about a proud guy!!! Amazing on a number of levels. This changes things in the world of sport bikes ..... Very cool to see a "showroom" bike in the top 10 of a major national event. The fun begins. |

This really is darn near one of the coolest things to happen in recent memory in AMA Road Racing. . . . . there are a host of firsts here . . but I think taking a customer bike off a dealer showroom, taking it to a premier AMA Super Bike event and doing this takes the cake. I'm REALLY proud of the work the folks at Buell have accomplished in record time. CONGRATULATIONS to Erik & The Elves.

Just hitting the road after the races and what a weekend it was. Great ride by Geoff and so close to the top 5 that everyone was hoping for. Geoff has done us all proud taking The New American Superbike out and finishing every race it entered and getting a handful of top tens. A big thank you to the man Erik Buell and all of the Elves for not giving up and showing America we can build a top level motorcycle. I must give a big shout out to Taylor Knapp who was like a kid with a new bike when I talked to hom on saturday. He was amazed to be able to take a bike that he had never rode before Friday and ride it with the rest of the lead riders. A big that's to Riders Discount for giving Taylor the ride and hope to see them field an Erik Buell Racing bike next year. Finally congrats to Josh Hays for a exciting race for the championship and Danny Eslick for showing us he can do it on a suzuki too. Nice to see and meet all the fellow Buellers that came out to support Erik Buell Racing. Until we meet again keep the rubber side down. |

Any way we can get that extra weight removed or what? Very heated race. To bad they only showed the main 8 guys the whole time. Can't wait to see an Erik Buell Racing bike get a podium. His practice times show he can do it. It was awesome seeing the two Erik Buell Racing logos in the standings list after the race They had a weird logo the day before. Way to go Eric and the guys. Keep up the good work. Being a fresh bike I can't wait until next season. Successful race yet again! Fantastic race to watch! We were glued to our set last night. Great performance by Erik Buell Racing, Geoff May, and Taylor Knapp! What was up with the KTM, did anyone hear? Fillmore crashed yesterday, but limped away, and he started today, but started further back and just kept loosing ground. |
