Hi Wes and Leah, congrats on your teams Indy performance. May I ask why you think you had so many clutch issues that Weekend. Are you guys going to New Jersey? Steve |

Hi Steve, I wish I had a good answer for you. Saturday during the race, our clutch basket started coming apart which we caught during a primary oil change sunday morning. We replaced the basket, but i made the decision to stick with the original clutch pack since it was working well and was a known quantitiy......It took a normal adjustment and worked great for shawn in the pits and on the warm up lap, but slipped like crazy on the start. My only guess is there was some contamination in the clutch pack that got 'spit out' during the warm up lap, causing the clutch adjustment to go out. I have been kicking myself for a week about not putting new friction/steels in, but we have learned the hard way sometimes that we are better off sticking with a known quantiiy and not make too many big changes on race day. I will take the whole blame for that one... We will not be at New Jersey. Best of luck to the James gang guys and the rest of the XR teams there....see you in Daytona! WFO |

Thanks Wes. I have second guessed myself a few times as well. Hindsight can be a mixed blessing. |
