I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this.... I just got news that Chris from Rochester, Mn was killed today in St. Cloud, Mn. He was on a bike. Chris rode out with us to Homecoming a couple of years ago on his 1125R . Please be careful! |

Steve- is this the kid on the 1125R that went down on Mindora Cut? ....sorry to hear this, he was a good guy. Please ride safe and always wear your gear. This is not the first motorcycle death I've read about in the last couple days. Also, my little bro went down on his girlfriends XB12R on Saturday and wasn't wearing his helmet- fortunately he managed to keep his head from hitting anything, but he was lucky. Spent a day and 1/2 in the hospital getting patched up. RIP. (Message edited by andymnelson on August 22, 2011) |

We watched a rider getting up after being knocked off his R6 yesterday by a minivan. As he peeled off the gear . . he had on a back protector and was, other than perhaps some bruises and lumps, pretty much looking okay. Traffic was stopped for miles . . several fire trucks, 2 ambulances, and countless NYPD cars . . there were 5 arriving as we passed. I don't know how it happened. But . . based on the folks who pass me daily, I have to guess it was an instance of some of the crazy Gowanus/BQE lane splitting that met some "rapid unannounced lane change" behavior the minivans are famous for. It's scary stuff and makes no difference, to the motorcyclist . .who is "right" and who is "wrong". |

it is an expression that came about when Priors' buddy Matt Ware passed, after a long bout with Cancer, it means that they are riding with you in spirit, your passenger pegs are folded down, PEGS - DOWN .. |

Does anyone have a link to news on the accident? This is the best I could find: http://www.livinglakecountry.com/lakecountryreport er/63523667.html I'd like to state this (as a brother of a rider who doesn't see a problem with it): please strongly consider whether or not to drink before riding. I made a conscious decision to not have a drop of alcohol if I will be getting on a bike (actually haven't had a fringe in years....but not the point here!). Please consider the same, as we need all senses at their peak while riding. Tragic. |

That link was from a couple of years ago. OP had been driving at high speed and missed a curve. Went through a culvert area, airborne, then hit a tree. |
