snakedriver and I (Leo and Janette) are home safe and sound. Ken left us about 10 miles from home, but was doing well. Old friends and new friends, we had a GREAT time. Please keep in touch and if you are ever in the Morgantown or Canaan Valley area, give us a shout. Would love to see all of you again. If you look for me on facebook, I'm super secret squirrel, however you can get to me from Leo's page (Leo Basile) and I'm friends with wolfie, gary, ken, etc. Feel free to add me. Hopefully you all arrive safe and dry. Can't wait to see you all again... even if I couldn't ride this year. Janette, Leo and Jane |

Made it home about 2:15. It rained the first 50 miles and then we ran in to a wicked T-storm close to home. Gary and I (Joe) spit at I-675 just East of Dayton, Ohio. Got home and it hasn't even rained at my house, go figure. Unpacking and drying all my soaking wet gear. Learned a valuable lesson, the rain fly only comes off the tent when you are taking the tent down. Don't take it off and go to breakfast. This year was so damn much fun it wasn't even funny. I sure hope it continues in some form. Great seeing everyone and thanks again to the Gainers, they are GREAT people to put up with us and to show us the hospitality. And we should probably send the North Bend state park an apology letter for the psychotherapy that the ranger who showed up at midnight Saturday is going to need and a special thanks to the people with the conveniently placed run off ramp/driveway. My total mileage for the weekend was 608. Until next time. |

Hey, had an awesome time!(whoda thunk?) Great to see everyone again, and great to meet some new folks! Thanks again to Mark, and Family, and all that made this thing happen! Home safe and sound, and only a little wet. That cloud chased us all the way home. Caught us once, in Harrisonburg VA. What a great adventure, about 1200mi total for the trip. the kids are finally home! it rained just about the whole time except when I dipped off the highway in fancy gap virginia and hit the blue ridge parkway for a while. saw a couple more buellers in the area too. oh yeah, shortly after leaving camp we made a wrong turn and passed vrod luke and his crew. later on I made another wrong turn and promptly ran out gas 1 mile from a gas station. fortunately it was right a toll booth and they called courtesy patrol to give us a dab of gas. after filling up we had to go back through the same toll booth and took too long to find our cash so the lady ran us off because we were holding up the line. what an adventure. did 500 miles today. even with froggy's seat.... my butt hurts and april's has gone missing! looking forward to seeing the gang again! |

Made it home about 6:30 tonight. Vern went south on 16, which I was not up for in the storm, so I went over to I-77. You did make it, right Vern? After watching Mark's tent collapse, I decided to play it safe. Mark - your advice to keep the rear tire spinning to avoid hydroplaning my bald rear tire worked great! Had a fantastic weekend, and very glad to get a safe one under my belt after 2 months off. Especially enjoyed listening to Vern and Gary go after each other. It's clear those two truly are in love... On that disturbing note, I'll get ready to go back to work tomorrow. Mark - will you remind us of your dad and stepmom's address so we can send a note if so inclined? thanks to all your family and friends for another over the top weekend of hospitality. - "Tim" |

Wow, what a great weekend!! It was great getting to meet everyone. I enjoyed it all, well not the rain that I drove in half way home. It turns out that if I had stopped and took a 1hr break earlier the storm would have passed over me. Well at least that's what happened when I stopped for lunch. I missed a turn and ended up going down Rt.50 to Rt.219 and headed down through Canaan Valley to Rt.33 then eastward home. Stopped for lunch in Thomas, WV, and between working to dry out and eating a bit, the sky turned blue, the sun came out, and from there to home the weather was grand. Thanks to everyone for such fun this weekend. I can't remember the last time I laughed so much. Now I know the next add-on for the bike will be saddlebags of some sort. I've already got ideas of how to mount them. The saddlebags on the bike you perverts!! |
