I've got a cracked ECM connector and I want to replace my ECM because of intermittent S/S issues. I thought about going the Erik Buell Racing route. The only problem I see is they have no specific mapping for a stock pipe on the 06 I've got no plans to replace the stock pipe. Erik Buell Racing recommend using the P&A muffler calibrated ECM for stock pipes. Anybody try this yet? |

The stock pipe config is amazing, get it. DOnt foget to order the fan logic that suits your desires, I prefer the 09 logic but thats just me. (Message edited by rwcfrank on August 19, 2011) |

I had the same thing for my '07 -- no race ecm available for it with the stock pipe. I wrote Erik Buell Racing and here's what they replied: David, We appreciate your interest. We have not sold a calibration for the 2004-2007 XB’s with a stock exhaust, because the stock DDFI2 calibration is quite good, and not nearly as intrusive as the later DDFI3 bikes which had to meet tighter emissions. We have created a calibration, but the increases are marginal, and it’s not worth selling ECM’s to customers with no noticeable performance advantage. We do offer ECM’s for DDFI2 XB’s equipped with aftermarket slipon mufflers, like a Drummer, etc. Thank you, Customer Support Erik Buell Racing

i will say, i have an ebr ecm in my '06 with stock muffler, k&n, and open inner airbox. they programmed it as such. i did not ask for performance numbers - i asked for smoothness, durability, rideability, and manners. it blows me away every single time i ride it. (think about who *else* owns a ddfi2 ulysses....) |

Ratbuell, I agree, I was just looking at replacing mine because it was cracked, found a replacement stock ECM online for $50. I'm a happy camper again. |

What's story with Erik Buell Racing ECU and TPS reset with ECM Spy? Works? Doesn't work? |

I posted the same question recently and was told ECMSpy will do the TPS reset. The statement on Erik Buell Racing website regarding warranty seems to apply to trying to make tuning changes with it, not TPS resets. That's how I understood it. |

I guess the best option is to ask Erik Buell Racing, to confirm, before purchase of their ECM. |

Not condoning or stating that it's a good or bad idea....but when I installed my Erik Buell Racing ECM on the '06 Ulysses, I did the reset with ecmspy. I do not touch anything resembling software, at any time. People much smarter than I wrote that code and I'm not going to monkey with it The only things I did were reset the TPS and the AFV. |
