Early this week my R left me stranded and long story short the Dealer said my battery tested ok. When I ride it goes from 13.4 when I'm on the highway and what not down to 12.0 while in town stop and go traffic red lights and what not. Once I get moving it goes back up to 13.3 or more is this normal? |

I'd have to say normal " means your batt. light stays off and your bike starts" |

I was wondering because it had me kind of worried. The light dose not come on once the bike is running. It just puzzles me how the voltage drops so much and goes right back up. |

You have an 08 don't you Russ? Do you run any "accessories" at all (HID, heated grips, sat-nav, coffee-maker, TV etc) and/or do you ride with main beam on? The 08 stator output is less than the 09 so you can expect the running voltages to be a little lower than an 09. You'd be better off looking at the output ACV of the stator rather than at DCV when riding. pop the seat off and check that out... |

My 09 CR is normally in the range of 13.5-14. 1. |

Mine is just like that Russmannn. It has always been. It always starts and if I didnt look at the gauge I wouldnt even know. I fixed the problem by not looking at the gauge. Im just shy of 15k now. (Message edited by rpm4x4 on August 19, 2011) |

13 to 14.1 when cruising on the highway. Drops down below 13 whenever I come to a stop and slowly drops down to as low as 12.0 if I'm stuck in traffic. It dropped down to 11.9 when I was letting it idle after installing the E.B.R. ECM. I shut it off when it got that low and threw it on the bat tender. 2009 CR |

Get HIDs for the lows and stop running hi-beams 100%. HID lo-beams(2 bulbs) are brighter than halogen hi-beams(4 bulbs) and are the same load per bulb as the halogens. No more Batt light at stoplights... Cheap fix via DDM Tuning. Z |

Google DDM Tuning, they aren't a sponsor, so no link. Z |
