Couple questions, what did you do to the muffler?.... Stock?.... Cost? Did you chrome your rear sprocket, paint it, or buy an aftermarket piece? Any problems with belt-wear without the belt covers? That is one nice looking machine. Blackhat edited by Blackhat on November 22, 2003 |

Ceramic coated stock muffler ( I did cut the muffler and rewelded it ). Buell polished rear sprocket. Broke the belt at 2500 mi.(pulling a hard wheelie when it broke so not sure if I can blame a pebble). I just put the bike back together and it runs like crap between 3500 and 4500 the motor stutters and I don't know why. I have a race ECM that I'm going to put on Monday and have the TPS reset. Hopefully thats the problem. For now it only looks good. |

Cut the end off and then cut a piece of the inner tube-like thingy out. I guess it made it into a straight pipe exhaust. Sounds good but I'm having issues. Hopefully just a TPS reset |

The blue plastic I had on it before didn't get this much attention. I should've done this mod along time ago. |

That looks great. Are the pipes ceramic coated? Like a 'jet hot' style coating. If so how effective is it at cooling the right leg? Also what product have you coated the plastics with ? Is it very durable? Oh I like things a bit different,....... must be why I ride a Buell. Well done Buellicious |

Any known issues with removing the belt covers - this looks great and lightens up the rear end quite a bit. Nice bike! |

Yeah it voids your warranty for one and makes the belt more suseptable (sp?) to stone damage. looks great though! Cya Stot |

I kind'a thought you'd be mif''d Misato. Paint job was done at Dallas Automotive and I think he gave me a break since I just had my car (2001 GT 389rwhp) painted there.$300. The exhaust was ceramic coated as well (Competition Coating). |

Misato, I thought you were going to go with more of a bright bold green? the green above is almost a light teal, not aggressive like the green you had shown in an earlier post.. |

Gonen, You beat me to it! I have been thinking about that color too for my XB. Here is what is supposed to be the color mix for "Roulette Green". Mine will be getting painted soon. Roulette Green: Triumph code- L DuPont Stock Code: F7608k (DuPont Belgian code, not US) Pint Formula 841j - 38.7 843j - 66.8 807j - 70.3 830j - 72.4 1005s - 91.8 1009s - 98.9 150k - 348.4 175k - 445.2

Can't wait to see that on one of our bikes. Super tough looking color. I picture it with powder coated black wheels.. |

Never thought I'd like the looks of a green Buell. But I like it! |

Did you need to drop the engine to get at those headers? And, how involved was painting the plastic panels. The bike looks fantastic!

Yes I rotated the motor forward. First time doing it takes alittle time. I wasn't looking for a stand-out color, so thats where the VW cyber green came from. |

Taking off the belt guards annuls the warranty for the belt only (assuming)? If this is the case, I can live with it. |

Thats probably down to the dealership I guess, belt and pulleys certainly would be void, not too cheap to replace really and mine snapped at 3000 miles with all the guards in place. Luckily I was only 100 yards from work at the end of a 13 mile trip. Dont want it happening again especially mid journey. Would be gool if a manufacturer were to come up with something between the two maybe? Protect the bottom at the rear pulley and top at the front pulley and in theory nothing should get in. Cya Stot |

yeah, I found that speed tripple formula also, thats what I'm gonna use. I know it wasn't the same green as licious, I like it though. When I pulled my headers off I just removed the fan to get the O2 out and bought a short wobbly socket and took the rear bolts out with that. I also had to undo the 3 bolts on the bar setup that holds the oil cooler. |
