Has anyone rigged up a quick shifter on the xb? I want to put one on my 2007 xb12r track bike. |

I was looking into that , Pingel Racing makes one for a XB , but it is very $$$$ . It is a true powered quick shift . I was thinking about getting this one , the "Holeshot Power Shifter 2" . It is reasonable $$ and works by cutting the engine ignition for a split second by sensing pressure on the shift lever . The only problem might be the wiring , it usually wires into the kickstand kill switch , but XB's dont have one . I was thinking the coil , but it may cause a check engine light . The guy who runs the website is very helpful . http://www.holeshot.com/ |

I have been looking at the Holeshot Performance also, guess I will give them a call. Thanks |

Bank angle sensor switch. IF you are running the engine control module from E_B_R it has commands for fuel and spark interrupt timing. There are other commands but you can accept the defaults. I do not believe the stock ECM can be controlled for electric shifting through ECMSpy. IF you have the E_B_R module, it's easy. DISable the BAS in KConfig ENable shift interrupt in KShift_Config (suggest 90 - 110 ms interrupt timing) Accept defaults for: KShiftV KShiftD KShiftW (Message edited by slaughter on August 16, 2011) |

If you disable the BAS, do you need to put a tether switch on it to kill the motor if you come off? |

Wire it in the BAS. I am at work, don't have the schematic here but when I get home, can give you the color of the 2 wires to connect (there are 3) |

Connect shifter leads across the 1) light green/gray and 2) Black/White on the BAS circuit. |

A word of warning on quickshifters and XB's..... The XB gearbox is pretty agricultural and really doesn't like clutchless upshifts and full throttle shifting much unfortunately. It is VERY easy to wreck a gearbox (believe me!) with race shifts so you may need to be a little more protective than you would with a Japanese 'box unfortunately (or get proficient at rebuilds). |

I am still debating. I don't use the clutch on upshifts now, just roll off and click. The quickshifter MIGHT work a little better with a longer delay - on the order of 200mS |
