I think they came out very nice. The is a slight cost difference between the 2008 and 2009 units, but for your participation and patience consider it our gift. Thanks, Pete
Find them here: http://grandstanddesigns.com/shop/index.php?l=prod uct_detail&p=64 I'll try to get a shot of them when they show up! |

Nice! Any idea if they still fit under the taylor made carbon covers? A tenth of an inch isn't much but you never know. |

send me a TM cover and we'll find out? hehehe. I'd hope so, but don't know since i don't have the TM cover (on my list...). I would hope that they would squeeze in, but could be wrong. |

Why would you need it, if you have a CF cover already? |

it would be neat if there was am aftermarket rev B cover with enough material around it to emulate a TM cover. although im not sure how firmly that is actually attached to the cover |

Froggy - i could send you this one to test - how bad is your TM cover beat up? Burn through or just scuffed? Few folks here i'd trust more - pop it on and test and let us know? (my current revB is golden and untouched so no rush for GSD's). Chessm - i'd be worried about the leverage force if you went down unless it's bolted to the case down at the perimeter like the TM cover. the Rev B "puck" is really just pressed on w/ an o-ring... |

Rev B sliders, CNC machined from 6061 and are 0.1" taller than the stock units for more crash protection.

Yes, I have a crash pic somewhere and the puck took the damage. No damage to the case. |

And if you've bought a new HD/Buell puck i think you'll see the benefit of this one. A - more protection (honestly not as much as the stator going from plastic to alum...) B - $99.99 for both sides vs 130-160'ish for just the rev B replacement puck (and o ring). Now i think they need to offer just the Rev B standalone to really outshine the HD/Buell replacement... I'm sure if you call them they will work something out - Pete's a great guy! |

I appreciate the offer but I'll find out the hard way. Both my puck and my TM cover were damaged in separate instances. The case took a beating too off road, but given the fact it has 14,000 miles and never leaked I don't want to jinx it by fixing it! |

$99.99 for both sides I looked for the stator side and couldn't find it. Sure it's for sale? |

99 for both sides is a steal IMO. These are going on the list for sure, as my clutch side is already scuffed. |

look at their site - they have Rev A (both the same puck) and Rev B - one large one small. You can look through the pics and see they are showing you both sides. Or if in doubt, give them a call - they've been great to chat with and are all helpful. I also agree that at $100 for both it's really a steal. Better protection and le$$ = win IMO. |

Just called GSD and although it's not real clear on their website (esp. on the Rev. A,) you do get both sides for the listed price. That's even more of a deal, so give em some business. |

I had a scratch on a stator cover with GSD puck, when I crashed the bike. Puck took most of the damage, but not all. I've bought a carbon fiber covers recently. They give better protection, at least on the left side. Didn't crash the bike on the right side yet, but it seems that the right side puck will give more protection than the left one. Still, carbon fiber covers are better, IMHO. |

Sweet. I knew waiting almost two years after my crash to replace the puck would pay off. |

Yugi - agreed. I'm hoping to double up and now put the EBr/TM carbon covers on. Hope they fit, but will be a while before $ to get one/both. Worst case i have the old pucks to put back on if they don't fit w/ the CF/kevlar covers. Badlions - lol. (Message edited by sl33py on August 10, 2011) |

The pucks will save expensive stuff in a crash. Here's a few pics after my 40-45 mph lowside. Bike slid a good 40-45 feet on the road before going into the grass.

What's the thinking on the shock absorption of the stock plastic versus aluminum? Obviously the aluminum will hold up to abrasion better, but will it transmit more shock into the casings in a tip over and risk cracking them? |

Sprintst, I don't see that thin piece of plastic on the rev A or stator cover offering any absorption. The rubber o-rings on the aluminum parts do more. The pods will take the brunt of the fall, as will the passenger pegs and brackets. |

are these year specific? will they work on a 2008? |

They are cover specific. GSD sells different ones to fit either cover now. |

Sprint - there are RevA and RevB covers. Badlionsfan and my pics above are all revB. Some 08's may have revB as they tried to repair the clutch leak. if you have hte smaller button type (RevA) then the original GSD set will work (both clutch and stator sides are the same). You may already know this, but hopefully it helps. |

Cool. So to help clarify there are two options/sets from GSD: 1 - RevA - both same size puck replacement (stator and clutch) (note the small puck with drain hole in the case itself below. also surprise it's leaking in this pic from the web) For RevA you can get the set from GSD: http://grandstanddesigns.com/shop/index.php?l=prod uct_detail&p=59 RevB clutch will have the larger puck: (thx xtreme6669. it will have the weep hole in the puck itself, not in the case) This is the new set from GSD which will have both the smaller puck for stator side, and larger RevB puck for clutch side: http://grandstanddesigns.com/shop/index.php?l=prod uct_detail&p=64 ALSO - Check the direction of your pegasus... I think the RevA are all backwards, vs RevB is facing forward. that accurate? hope that clarifies it for anyone who comes across this and is unsure which to get. |

Must be a lucky one, I have the rev A and so far, no leaks |

Well CRAP... got out of work yesterday and the stator side is missing! Don't know if someone yanked it or it just fell off... $&%@! I swapped the o-ring to the GSD cover so need at least an o-ring to put the old plastic Buell one back on, or order and wait for one from GSD. Anyone have their's fall off? How the hell did that happen? It was on snug - didn't seem loose and just as positive as the original. Any harm riding w/o the cover on? |

Yep, my stator side fell off one day after installing it. don't know how because it was on and snug. Pretty mad about it and I want another one but afraid that it will happen again. They are nice though! I still have the clutch cover slider so, we will see. I had to order another O ring from American Sport Bike and will probably get another slider from GSD on Monday. |
