Okay sooooo. Girlfriend and I are heading up that way. Problem is I can't seem to find lodging. Don't mind camping not sure how a tent would work 2up though. Ideas? | ||

Ok so, when I'm in the predicament that you are, going somewhere and cant carry my gear i mail it ahead of me to where i am going to be, so maybe someone in the local area or someone driving a cage would let you ups a tent and some sleeping gear and be kind enough to send it back after wards. Or travel light and hit a walmart close and buy a 15 dollar tent and 2 12 dollar bags and chuck them afterwords. just ideas | ||

I will be at my folks place Wednesday if anyone is getting there earlyish. ... and trust me, that addy is more than enough to get to the right spot. | ||

Ok, this MIGHT be my first trip up to this (truthfully I just found out about this about an hour ago), I need to find out more about this. What would I need to have to have a pleasurable weekend? Tent? Sleeping Bag? What about food? I dont want to come unprepared, and dont want to bring too much either. Will/Would be on a 08 1125R, fortunately I have tank, large tail, and saddlebags to haul SOME things. But if it were a tent (which I dont own) that might be tricky, but im willing to buy and strap it on somehow. How much money would I need for this? Outside of gas I mean. Sorry for the nooooob questions, just trying to figure out if this will be possible for me or not. | ||

well, ya don't need much in the way of $$. I have the campground covered. The food is covered Friday & Saturday night. All you need cash for is breakfast and lunch.... and you wanna eat a small lunch because the food trough runneth over. Gas money Beer money Campfire snack money That is about it I will be putting a bucket out for the E-B-R racing effort I will also have some E-B-R "Never give up" tees for sale that Court is sending to help raise some green backs for #99. T's will be 20 or 25 bucks or so. | ||

Ok, so I'll need 20 bucks for a XL tee  Dont drink, so that'll save money. Are there showers at the campgrounds? Bathrooms? How far are the hotels from the campgrounds? I am talking with HotRats/Andy, he said he might be interested in a hotel room, but I also wonder if camping might be better cause then wont have to leave the party early to get to my bed. I dont know. Im thinking its about 400 miles to the rally, so thats only about 10 gallons each way, not bad there. I think this will work out! More planning to be done though, but I SHOULD be in for this | ||

....and coming from NC you may want to pick up 16 for a great ride.... The only thing you want to make sure of is to have your tent set up and be ready to roll out at 5:30 on Friday evening. We will have a little welcome meeting at 5:30 on Friday at the Cokely Campground. Group ride at 5:45 to my folks farm for eats at 6 Saturday is go you own way ride day Then be back at my parents place by 6 PM on Saturday for round 2 of grubfest | ||

The Campground is the place to be if ya ask me. They have a VERY nice shower house. The lodge should do a buffet for breakfast. If you don't have a tent. I suggest you get a 3 man tent. Anything smaller is a pain in the butt to keep all your stuff in if you ask me. Travel light. wear and bring all your old clothes that you can just toss in the trash when you are done wearing it so you don't have to drag it home. | ||

Well I dont camp, this will be the first time in over a decade I've even been in a tent. So I'd probably buy as cheap as possible. Was looking at the A frame kind, apparently they are easy to assemble. Thanks for the idea on the throw-away clothes. Sounds like I'll be bringing (if all of this works out) a bunch of my older white(ish) undershirts. Seriously, thanks for all of the info for us/me that hasnt been to this before and knows nothing about it. | ||

Mostly reassemble. The real problem is my work schedule is crazy, and I still need to find an intake setup without spending $300. But I'm always up for a challenge! | ||

Anyone going to be going from the south and interested in meeting up? I'd like to go, as I have made all but the 1st one. I'm recovering well from my June crash, but would rather meet someone(s) to ride up with vs. going it alone while I "rebuild" confidence. The Uly is ready to go (though the crashed saddlebag isn't quite right yet), and doctor removed my restrictions yesterday! Anyone? M2NC, Etennuly? I am flexible on the meet up spot. I finally got my bike back together about 3 weeks ago after a rather extensive maintenance session; replaced several leaking gaskets, a clutch, tire, and caught a severe dose of "while I'm here, I think I'll do this ..." Today the bike is packed and pointing north in the garage. I take off for WVBR5 at noon on Friday. Two years ago I went to rally and only took Friday off work. Since I am 840 miles from the campground, it made for some rather long travel days. It was motorcycle heaven sandwiched between two trip legs of super-slab hell. This time I am determined to stretch the fun out over a few more days. I plan to ride the Blue Ridge Pkwy & Skyline Dr on my way to Madawaska ME. Then, to Acadia Nat'l Park and down to Harrisville WV. I can't wait. Hope to see y'all soon. Take care, Road_kill | ||

I am still trying to hustle up on my Jeep to be a totn' to town for the first WV Buell/Jeep Rally!  Another month and I will be ready! Or.....I am going to crunch all I can in this weekend to getter' operational for the trip. I am still holding at 50-50 on the Jeep being able to climb up onto the trailer under it's own power. Jim, if the Jeep does not make muster I can hook up with you for the ride up. I will know by Monday. I will keep you posted. Either way I will be heading out about 5am Friday. Here is my proposed route. I PLAN on leaving my home at 7 AM on Friday. B-Rankin and Webe may be with me, depending on how that works out. We may be hooking up with Owens and friend around Winston-Salem... Not too sure how to do 16, but I am up for that, if we can get to camp by around 4 PM to set up tents before the feast. Wolfie, you can fill me in on 16 maybe ? If our group gets really big we can split up into a slow and fast group... me being the slow one, since I have a perfect driving record since moving to NC. LOL. Anyone who thinks they might be on the way up let me know. I plan on staying Sunday night and riding back down Monday, but it sounds like most people will be driving back Sunday. When you are headed North on 77 get off on 19 north. 16 crosses 19 Bring 16 all the way north to Harrisville. It will add some time to your trip but its well worth the ride. | ||
